Stop using the Browns to criticize Macc

2018 Browns draft: 4 picks in the top 35! Plus #1 & #4 in the 1st & #1 & #3 in the 2nd! 9 total picks.

AGAIN #1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, plus THE #4 overall pick! Denzel Ward (CB), Austin Corbett (OL), Nick Chubb (RB), Chad Thomas (DE), Antonio Callaway (WR), Henares Avery (LB), Damion Ratley (WR), Simeon Thomas (CB).

So fans are here try to use the Browns to disparage Macc? 

The Browns have had 47 draft picks including the 2015 draft! Their best WR was a trade with Miami (Landry). 

So, the homegrown talent on the Browns who are their core: Mayfield- Ward- Njoku- Garrett- Chubb (35 overall). 2 number 1s overall, a 4th overall a 29th overall and a 35th overall. Granted they have found other players, Obgogu, Higgins, Callaway look like players. 

So, since 2015, Macc has a core of Darnold- Adams- Williams- Herndon- And for S & Gs, let's give him stud pass rusher this year (Josh Allen). Macc has had 28 selections to Clevelands 47! 

Stop! And, with a more competent Head Coach, are 2 games better than the Jets. Stop!

Jets are right up there with the Browns as most desirable opening. Browns got Landry last year, Jets will get a free agent weapon this year (Bell?), or Tevin Coleman?. Knowing the Johnsons gave Rex 6 years & Bowles 4 also lets candidates know this organization allows time to prove yourself. Others have pointed out Haslam changes with the wind. Huge edge Jets.

So no credit is deserved for loading up on as many draft choices as possible?  Tanking properly is a thing, you know. 

And you're underestimating just how good the "hits" have been.  The Browns were criticized for taking Myles Garrett # 1 and Denzel Ward # 4 instead of a QB and Bradley Chubb, respectively. 

Garrett is already looking like an elite pass rusher, and Ward an elite CB1.  Those are 2 things the Jets decidedly lack.

he signed their offensive core after a 1-15 team to be our offensive core-josh crowell and pryor-josh is a career jag crowell very avg at best and pryor failed miserably here

They have f*cking 6 wins! STOP! 2 of those wins are against the Bengals and they beat the Broncos by 1 point! THE FALCONS, The obviously injured Cam Newton & the Panthers!  They lost to THE RAIDERS, THE BUCS! 

They got trucked by Chargers (24 point loss), Steelers (15 point loss), Chiefs (16 point loss), Texans (16 point loss).

And yes, many, many fans here are matching the Browns to the Jets regarding most desirable for a new coaching staff.

Outside of the yelling, It's because they're the most desirable. They have a pass rusher, a QB that's not just in ROTY talks but put up one of the best rookie seasons, drafted a CB this year that has the talent but has concussion concerns, but most of all, they have a GM that has credibility building teams and getting immediate success out of rookies all throughout the draft no matter the round. 

There shouldnt be any matching becausr the Browns job is clearly better. What coach wants to come here not knowing if Maccagnan is going to be here next year if he's not fired? 

The only bright spot of this organization is Sam Darnold. But there is no playmakers anywhere on this team nor do we have a GM that has shown the ability to draft well.

Well, Macc is staying so you might as well head off to Ohio & cheer for the 7 win Browns. Maybe, just maybe, guys don't want to have Dorsey over them, ever think of that? 

Ooh, Baker Mayfield beat Todd Bowles incredible defense! So did Brock Osweiller & Matt Barkley, that's why I didn't put too much into that win!

The Chargers, Chiefs Steelers and Texans are all either playoff teams or needing a win to clinch the playoffs this Sunday. You mention these blowouts to these type of teams...which is true, it happened. 

What about the Jets getting blown out by 20 by the Blake Bortles Jags? Bortles had his best game of the year against us.

The Browns beat the Broncos by 1 point, but the Jets lost their game by 18 points to the Broncos. 

Here's a playoff caliber team. We played the Vikings and lost by 20 points. 

We lost by 14 points to the Bears, another playoff team. 

What about the Bills? They're not a playoff team yet we lost to the Bills by 30 points. 

Losing to the Chargers by 25 points isnt like losing to the Bills by 30.

 

We live in a glass house, you shouldnt be throwing stones at other teams who actually had a better season than the Jets did.

Then will turn around and then say we're as desirable as them. We cant have it both ways.

Nope.  According to Football Outsiders (probably the best metrics we have available), they're the # 14 overall defense, and # 6 against the pass:  https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef

That is definitely more of a reflection of reality.  If they really were the # 29 defense, they wouldn't be about a .500 team.  They'd be near the bottom of the league.  I'll trust the FO rankings.

For years we were told we couldn’t criticize the Jets because “at least they’re not the Browns.”  Now that that mantra is gone, we’re no longer allowed to speak about the Browns.

The 2015 Jets were nearly a playoff team.  The only thing "perennial" since then has been 5 win seasons.
