Not sure the incoming HC is going to want to deal with that. We certainly don't want to thrust that kind of guys on any of our prospective HCs whether that's a vet like McCarthy that wants his guys or a young HC that won't want to be undermined by Williams. Kleckineau
FWIW the Browns and Mayfield really did do well with Kitchens as OC after Jackson was canned. Can they keep Williams or will his ego be too bruised?

The guys hired aren't anything special. Who wants to work with Ryan Tannehill? Who wants to work with Andy Dalton and leagues worst defense? We are in a great spot right now. Whether it's McCarthy/Ruhle/Gase/Monken, we are getting the guy we want. May be able to get one as HC and the other as OC. Monken/Gase may not be thrilled settling for an OC job, but working with Darnold and being "responsible" for his future success would guarantee a future HC job really fast. Yet when the Browns hire the OC who has shown he can work with Mayfield, it becomes "Mayfield is calling all the shots..." This board is crazy when it comes to Mayfield!
