Didn't impose his opinion, but talked with him on FaceTime before the Jets pulled the trigger? Sounds like they wanted his approval. If Darnold, a 21 year old kid with zero coaching experience, and only half a year of NFL playing experience, had ANY say in this decision, it just further proves that we need new ownership. He's not a coach. And he's not even a fully developed man. He's a boy. A 21 year old kid. His opinion on who should be coaching is completely irrelevant. I bet Brady as a rookie wouldn't have wanted the hard ass Belicheck as coach.
