Maccagnan is laughing his a$$ off.

Have to hand it to Maccagnan, he survived a miserable 4 years and was able to hire a new scapegoat for the next 4 years.  All the attention will be on Gase now.  Everyone is demanding to win now and if that doesn’t happen it’s all going to fall on Gase.  Mac will draft one good defensive lineman and the Johnsons will give him a 5 year extension.

Great times...

No now the pressure is ALL on Maccagnan. This is HIS guy.  He has a terrible draft record(at least Rounds 2-7).  His two biggest FA signings have been Revis who basically retired after coming back and Trumaine Johnson.  So if Macc is acting like he is free and clear then he is a moron. He needs to hit a homerun this offseason

That's right. Mac is on the hot seat, as he should be. The frigging clown.

Normal people would think that, agreed.  But Maccagnan has somehow convinced the Johnsons he’s been doing a good job.  Scary stuff.

Mac is on the clock. Don't  kid yourself. If he screws up the cap and draft this off season, he will be out.

You have literally nothing to support this. The Jets with a straight face have said this team has talent and kept him after four years of ineptitude. He could be here for another two years at least.

This post is dookie. It’s also not worth a thread.

As much as I love your line of thinking -- this time it'll be Macc out the door with Gase in 2 years if the Jets aren't banging out playoff Ws... mark it down, the Mac & Gase marriage has 2019 & 2020 to show us it has legs.

Exactly. Macc wont survive another misfire

Exactly what I was going to post. Gase apparently has no problem sounding off to ownership and doesn't give a f. It will get rowdy at some point if it doesn't work and Coffee in Hand won't be able to walk away cleanly if at all.

Totally agree. If anything, this puts more pressure on Macc. Gase will voice his displeasure if Macc falls flat in FA and the draft.

This is what Chris Johnson wants. He talks about the organization being run like a democracy.

There is no next four years if this team doesn't show signs of improvement. Macc and Gase are both taking a risk of this being their last shot. If Macc truly cared about his job, he would have hired/pushed hard to get Mike McCarthy. Gase could have taken an OC position and undoubtedly would have been the hot candidate in 2020. If they fail here, Gase is an OC until he retires, and Macc is relegated to a behind the scenes Idzik type of position for the Titans.

Maybe he will expose Mac in a way most don't expect. Wouldn't it be great for all of macs picks to suddenly play lights out football? That would be better than a bunch of fans getting to say I told you so no?

From your mouth to the football God's ears. I'm hoping that Gase proves all the naysayers wrong. Knowing the negative Nancy's on this board, they will root for the 2019 Jets to fail so that they don't have to eat crow.

Macc just went all in on Gase.

- If he was interested in appeasing the lunatic fan base he would have hired McCarthy,

- If he was power hungry he would have hired Monken or Rhule (which would have likely given him more time)

Gase was the most dangerous hire for his security yet he made it because he believes it was the best choice.  He'll have 2 years to make it happen or he's gone.  Pretty simple to see.

How exactly will Gase expose Mac?

by winning?  by losing? by fighting with him and adding to this already ridiculously dysfunctional organization?
