Gregg Williams close to signing as DC

Recommended Posts

Gase and Williams on one field?  They might not have a voice by the end of training camp.

The Oc is irrelevant, Gase is calling the plays, its his offense.

I still want the best available people regardless.

This would be excellent.  But as we saw with the Head Coach search, lets not count any chickens before they hatch.  There is ALOT of B.S. "sources" thrown about, and 99% turn out to not happen.  I want this, and would applaud it, but I'm not going to start circle jerking till it's official.

They dont announce this stuff unless its a done deal.

You may commence jerking!!

Doesn't Williamss run a 4-3.  Should be seeing a lot of changes on this defense this year.

Good signing . If they keep Kevin Greene it’s gonna be wild training camp

They both would be spending a bunch of time in the concussion protocol after practice, that's for sure.😁

This would be a much needed addition. Our D has a star in Adams and some other real quality players sprinkled in, although not enough. A guy like Williams will get the most out of everyone. Hopefully we supply him with some additional talent via FA and the draft.

Hopefully he won’t even get the chance to and we trade him.

Going with a 4-3 defense will probably mean taking a defensive tackle or end in the first round unless we get an offer we cant refuse to move back

Since 2006, Gregg Williams led defenses have been in the top ten in points allowed once. I’m befuddled as to why this hiring, if true, is a big deal.  He’s massively overrated here.

Watch what you wish for with Williams.  Guy is a loose cannon with a history of scumbag moves designed to injure players.  Not the kind of personality I would want on my team.

Finally! Something to be excited about. Lee will have to step up big time to play for Williams. Better question can Lee play in a 4-3?
