I would love to hear some humility, some self reflection of needing to grow as a person. That would be calming

Seriously? I want to hear we are going to get this franchise going in the right direction and we are going to start by making Darnold the best QB in the league.

If Gase is smart he'll have a good joke ready about his popularity among the fan base.

Show a little personality and then touch on his vision for the team

You know what, I think you people want a game show host for a HC. Do you know what Jimmy Johnson told the team his first day as HC in Dallas? Life isn't  fair and neither am I.

I want him to let the team know the BS stops now. You get to meetings on time, you take your job seriously or im going to make yoyr life miserable.  This team needs discipline. Club Todd is over.

Haven't you heard the canned answers to those questions enough?

So CJ, Why was Gase the choice?

Well, we thought he was the best choice for the direction of the team.

I mean what do you expect them to say?

So, if I am understanding you, don't ask the question because you think you know the answer you'll get?

We''ll have to get that into the curriculum for our future journalists. You never know if someone might give a genuinely honest answer.

I think alot of you who "want to hear..." are going to wind up disappointed.

Hearing is bullsh*t anyways. Get back to me when I finally see something. It’s been 8 years since things were awesome.

I’m excited for Sam’s sophomore year and hope like hell that this organization doesn’t ruin him or hold him back because of coaching/supporting cast.

Gase could be great for Darnold though. I’m hopeful of that. I’m not hopeful of the players that will be provided to Gase which isn’t on Gase at all.

I don’t want to hear sh*t anymore personally and we have no control so might as well sit back and judge only after things do or don't happen.

No, asking the question is fine, reporters have a job to do but to want to hear that question? Why, we all know the answer. It's like asking Trump did you collude with the Russians. What answer would you expect other than no?

Now I see the manner of man I am trying to converse with.

Take care.

The hack writers will try to trigger gase I hope he's been warned lol

The jets need to finalize Williams before the presser or that's all they will ask him about

I'd like to know if he's calling the plays and if they are hiring a QB coach

I would love to hear him say that Dowell Logains will be calling the plays if for no other reason than to see the reaction on JN. :hap:   After which I will curl up in the fetal position and sob gently into the pillow.

The thread title is whay you “ want to hear” not what will we hear mate

Yeah mate, think you missed a merge.  I was specificly talking about people who want to hear specific things or attitudes from Gase.  Not that they won't hear him talk.

Me too! Just saying i hope he isnt as abrasive interpersonally

He walks to the podium....

(Looking towards Manish) "Soooo....fvck you guys!  Now that we got that out of the way, why have you been losing for so long?  Actually....don't worry about it...that's in the past.  I'm gonna bring the wins and I'm gonna piss people off while I do it!  These players are about to become the most miserable bunch of winners you've ever seen.....and you're all going to love it.  Thanks for coming today."  Steps away from the podium.  Turns back to the mic one last time, "Oh, and fvck you guys!" (while looking at Cimini).

This!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to hear but I think you nailed it on the head.  I don't want to hear excuses for his failures but an acceptance of them and a commitment to fix them.

If he doesn't believe he made mistakes then he'll simply not get better.

Yeah, like any of this is going to be talked about at an opening presser.  Let me waste time talking about crap one or two problematic players whined about.  And he'll admit he was wrong.  Like every fired HC who lands a job would do.

Holy gross overreaction...regardless of what side of the aisle you stand on, it's a valid example. He didn't insert any opinion into it. A little sensitive much?

Max has made it very clear concerning politics on the board. I'm not getting into it..... that's all. No overreaction..... just saw the writing on the wall.

Thanks for the input.

This is the part most Jet fans refuse to acknowledge- they know he’s a losing record and offenses ranking 24th, 25th and 31st - but can blame that away on talent and injuries -

but in addition to producing poor results he’s also a head-case that fights with his own players (team mostly quit on him) and ownership.

How’s that going to change with Macc buying the groceries. There’s only so much any coach can do when your roster sucks, barring the amateurish mismanagement by Bowles. At least we have Darnold who should significantly progress this year. And hiring Williams as DC will invigorate this doormat defense. Much of this  team’s future succees lies in filling the holes in FA and drafting wisely. Hopefully, Gase and Williams have considerable input into filling these gaping holes.

I would love the question...

"You are being billed as an offensive specialist yet your offenses have been, at best, in the bottom third of the league. - How do you account for that?"

Think reporters are smarter than fans who feel the need to ask this.  And really don't want to start off this way.

This will be a good way of restoring some semblance of sanity to this board. Looking to see him poised and relaxed

Would also like to hear from  CJ and MAC on all the drama with the McCarthy/ Rhoule interview and why Gase was the choice.

Rhule was never a head coach possibility. NFL insiders say the Jets wanted to feel him out for offensive coordinator and they brought him in to see if he'd consider it

No matter how Gase handles the presser, he will come off looking like a champ compared to the robotic and stone faced Bowles nightmares we had to endure over the last 4 years.  Looking forward to hearing a coach that isn't afraid to actually respond to a question with a legit answer.

Tannehill Cutler Osweiler

Amen, Jet fans can never see the Forest for the trees. Gase isnt God, Tanneyhill was there when Gase arrived and couldn't stay healthy. You can't make chicken salad with crow no matter how talented a chef you are.

I'm willing to give him some lattitude

What if every answer he gives is I don't know I have to review the tape?
