Sarge4Tide
Nobody thinks Sam is a great NFL QB right now, but after 1 year, what past great NFL QB does Darnold most remind you of? (Again, we're not saying Darnold is as good as these players, we are talking about skillset or a style of play)
JohnJ
Favre, or Elway, for his escapability.
Lith
I like the Favre comparison - he scrambles to extned plays, looks to make plays downfield rather than run,. He will make some mistakes, but hopefully will make a lot of big plays throughout his career.
nycdan
Brett Ratliff wasn't on this list so I went Favre. Similar build and style. Can scramble and throw better than most. Will try any throw and make most of them while missing a few spectacularly. There's worse comps for a new QB.

Only difference is Favre is more of a selfish gunslinger (not meant derogatory -he believes HE is great). My opinion, of course. Sam is more reckless because he expects his WRs to make plays, not so much about him as being a great QB. Sam is more dependent on using his talent. BigO
I’ve thought about this for awhile. Kelly seems the most logical. Good enough arm to make any throw, cerebral, good feet, can make plays out the pocket, good leader, quick decision maker/reads progressions well. Hopefully Sam will win the big games. That being said, if the rest of his game matches favre's I'll probably be able to live with high(er) int totals.
