PCP63
In both the Superbowl and the AFC Championship, the same thing led to losses by the opposing team: getting impatient. In the Superbowl, Goff throwing it do 2 or 3 times in a row when no one was open, the last being a huge interception. I know it's cool and young McVay to go big or go home, but stop ignoring the intermediate game. The AFCC was even worse. Andy Reid, for as long as he's been a coach, should know the difference between a 2 minute offense, and a 4 minute offense. Those 40 yard bombs are flashy and exciting, but you gave the greatest player of all time 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning to get just a field goal. There's a time and place to air it out. The 40 yard line, and a 4 minute offense are not that place.
Bocajetfan
Goff was not able to handle the pass rush. Was surprised that they didn’t try moving the pocket with him. Recievers got no separation and blame the refs but I believe the refs let both sides play. Pats did a better job of getting Edelman open (for the most part he was the only Pats receiver getting open) Rams Recievers we’re blanketed. When Rams had an open Recievers Goff could not find him

Chrebetfan80
Combination of bad coaching of the rams and great coaching by Belicheck. This is what kills teams, Bill completely took away the stretch run game of the rams by instead of flowing laterally, trying to take away cutback lanes, and rushing downhill and at the ball carrier. When the rams cant run the ball consistently they struggle. The second problem with the run game was the rams abandoned it at odd times. They had some success going off tackle with a few plays, but then when they promptly and predictably ran it again, it was stopped for a short gain and then abandoned for the series. What the pats also took away was a staple of the rams offense over the course of the year, and something they have been killing teams with which was the stretch play action roll out. So their typical 12 personnel, 2 TE's a wing sometimes and gurly in the backfield. They jet motion across and usually stretch to gurley the opposite way and then roll back to the Wing, TE or Jet motion player running to the flat and intermediate areas where goff can high low the defender. The first time the play was run you see the brilliance of belicheck and the discipline to the game plan that the pats employ. Mcvay dials up his staple play, woods jets across, they snap the ball, play fake to gurley the opposite way, but what goff doesnt see until he's whipped around to throw the ball is that Van Noy was sitting back side and completely leveled woods on the snap eliminating him from the flat. The TE who went to the intermediate zone was easily covered by his defender and goff was forced to scramble out of bounds. Thats just one example, but thats why its so hard to beat the pats. Bellicheck has that team SOOOO dialed into their assignments, and rarely during a game, do you see someone out of position, playing with poor technique or poor eye discipline. Their lack of mistakes makes the game insanely tight and forces teams to capitalize on their opportunities at a very high efficiency in order to win. When the pats DO make a mistake, if you want to win, you absolutely MUST capitalize immediately. Tom brady miss read a coverage on the opening drive, a beautiful design by wade phllips, throwing the interception off the tip. What do the rams do? immediately give it back after going 3 and out. You want to beat belicheck in the playoffs, that has to be points on that drive. Belicheck is the games best coach of this generation and quite possibly ANY generation, and what he's developed in New England is remarkable. Average players play at an all pro level because of their discipline in their jobs, and bill knows that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
