It's gotta be the Raiders - Gruden, their mutant owner with the world's worst haircut and they may not know where they are playing their regular season games by the time camp opens.  This is a reason to subscribe to HBO.

That’s what I first thought when I saw the list.

T2 was made to placate the fanboys who wanted to see Arnold as a good guy. It's a good movie, and a solid extension to the original, but it lacks the dark tone that's so great about the first one. The "Tech Noir" night club scene alone makes the first one a superior movie. Sarah Connor's entire life and view of the world changes right then and there.

Her face in that scene is still burned into my memory. Good call on that one. Not better, but certainly no worse. Just a great 1/2 punch in movies.

That scene, and the shootout at the police station are both amazing. And neither required any crazy SPFX. I like the second one, but I'll take the original over it any day.

Thank you!

The notion that most/all sequels suck is such a myth

Both are excellent films.

I think the point is more that the sequel does not disappoint at all.

But seriously, T-1000 all day. Still the coolest Terminator model/villain to this day.

Granted, that's a very short list out of the vast number of bad sequels out there.  It was still fun to compile though.

Definitely.

There are plenty others where, even if the sequel isn't flat out better than the original, it's at least comparable.

Back to the Future Part II

The Conjuring 2

Toy Story 2

etc.

Little-known fact: the T-1000 was originally in the script for the first movie. James Cameron took it out because he didn't feel the available SPFX technology at the time could pull off what he envisioned for the character. He brought it back for the sequel.

Also going to add to this...

- Home Alone 2

- Scream 2

- Toy Story 2

- Childs Play 2

- Friday The 13th 2

- Mighty Ducks 2

- Silence Of The Lambs (technically a sequel to Manhunter)
