Kap and NFL Settle

I do not believe there was ever actual collusion.

All the Owners individually thinking he was not good enough for a 20 million deal, and too much of a headache at that price point, is not collusion.

But congrats to him I suppose for milking the system.  Maybe now he can go be the Civil Rights Icon he always wanted to be and leave sports to sports fans.

By the way, he turned down a job in the AAF, said it wasn;t enough money (he wanted 20 mil./year, they pay $225k for three years).  AAF collusion lawsuit inbound?

That was my feeling. 32 owners all coming to the obvious conclusion that "he's toxic for my business" isn't the same as "collusion."

Just glad this is over so that every time Nathan Peterman throws a pick six we can just laugh without having a bunch of sports media folks bringing up Kaep.

Whatever money was paid is deserved by neither Kaepernick nor the NFL. The lawsuit itself was an absolute joke in every single way, but you can't really feel any pity for anything that goes against that douche bag of an organization. If there's any karma, the league will pay a lot of money out and Kap will immediately lose it all.

Of course, then again, I'm sure we'll all get to pay off NFL's debt for them... fun times.

Oh, THAT isn't going to change.  Kap will be 45 before that stuff goes away.

What a coincidence that this unverified leak shows up at the same time the settlement was announced... Fun when we pick an choose which anonymous sources to believe.

Also, Derek Anderson, Nathan Peterman, Taylor Henickie (who TF?), Colt McCoy, DeShone Kizer, and Mark Sanchez all threw a meaningful amount of passes this year.  We don't actually know what Kapernick was asking for, but lets not pretend he wasn't also avoided by many, if not most, if not all.

Is making yourself toxic and unemployable the same as being colluded against, though? Playing in the NFL is a privilege. Nobody is entitled to be paid millions of dollars to provide entertainment, which is what pro athletes are doing at the end of the day.

(also, I'd argue Colt McCoy is actually better than Kaep... The rest of the guys on that list... Yeah.)

The NFL doesn't settle ever. There was obviously something to the collusion case. The Court had emails and text messages from the NFL and the teams in which the NFL did not want those to go public. Being guilty is the only reason the NFL would settle here and from the rumors they gave him between $60-$80 million. That's "we colluded and don't want anyone to know" money.

Without having read any of the story I'd imagine he'll likely donate whatever money he got to causes he believes in.  Just like the millions of his own money he already has.

But for some people it's easier to call him a scumbag and scream about hating america lol.

Colin Kaepernick is the socialist dream. He has made more money in the past 2 years being unemployed than if he had a job.

The guy is a phony. He has a political agenda, not a football agenda. That's why he was unemployed. In what work environment would you be allowed to keep your job doing what he did,  especially as a spokesperson and face of a franchise.

Remember those Instagram posts between Russell Wilson and Kap. Wilson had pics of him at charity event and children hospitals. Kap had pictures of his fast cars and biceps. Kap doesn't care about anyone except for himself and dividing the country through racism under the agenda of the Democrat/socialist movent

Personally I havent seen either instagram and don’t care but he donates to charity and I recall he and some others getting a plane and donating a bunch of food and water to Somalia year or two ago.

While his contributions to charity are noble let's not forget that he made 45million dollars from his football salary in addition to millions more from the scumbags at Nike.  Many of these donations were most likely made to enhance his street cred, and as a nice tax deduction.  This guy is no hero.  As for him donating his latest "windfall" to charity, let's get real.

Thats a pretty naive thought. If I got $100 mil under the condition that I donate a few mil. I'd take that offer any day. There's plenty of a$$hole millionaire s and billionaires that are philanthropists. Does that make them great people. You probably hate Trump. Trump has donated millions, does that change your opinion. Or do you have a double standard?

This is the most exciting post I’ve seen all day.

With this type of statement I'd have to assume you're at the soup kitchen every Sunday, and donating every penny you can to children's hospitals and the like. Let's get real.

Worst post I've ever seen on this board, and that is saying something. Are you also at shelters helping people in your free time like the other guys in this thread?

He was definitely blacklisted by many ultra conservative owners that have no idea what racial profiling and police brutality actually is or they don't care. To call a guy toxic that is standing up for basic human rights is just lazy. I'm not black, but I have close friends that are and one in particular is harassed by police all the time - and he's a really successful businessman with a house twice the size of mine. He's been questioned a mile from his own home because he parks his car to write a text in the middle of the day.

???  No. Do you?  I don't get your argument. I have a job. And I don't have millions of dollars to sit on if I didnt

The point of my post is practice what you preach. You don't need millions of dollars to help other people out.  I am in a position where I can help people out and I do so every chance I can. I go out around winter time and give homeless people packages with water, socks, a blanket and some other necessities. I donate clothes and other things to indigenous people. I buy candy and piñatas for orphanages at Christmas time.  I am not close to rich, in fact I bet I earn a ton less than you, but there's plenty of people with much less.

I'm not showing off, I am making a point. Some of you are acting like Mother Theresa or something.

If he donates the money; I’ll have respect for him.  If he pockets it; I won’t.

Curious how much he got.

The fact he agreed to a confidentiality agreement says he might not have gotten anything.  Hard to say.
