Film Room: Adam Gase playcalling dominance over Vic Fangio

Villain The Foe

We finally have an offensive mind at HC.  We will have the same system for at least 3 years probably.  Jets had 3 OC's in 4 years under Bowles.  That makes it hard on every player on offense to build chemistry.  Gase is going to love Darnold.

Agree. Just having some stability for the O will be worth a few wins IMO, before we even get to what Gase is scheming.

It's flat out criminal how long this organization has avoided offensive football. Has there been a more boring team in the NFL since 2011? 7 years! How many STUFFED 3rd & shorts can a fan bear? How many 7 punt 1st halfs backed up to our own goal line?

How do you let a Head Coach change OCs like underwear? Not just Bowles, how many OCs have been here during Rex & Todds reigns?

7 years with basically NO SYSTEM to speak of. It's just impossible to succeed like that. Look at the Saints & Sean Payton. They've had a system in place that keeps expanding & growing. Now they've incorporated Hill into the system. Everyone knows the Saints should have been playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Finally. We have a young franchise QB + an offensive minded coach that still believes in balance. Gase isn't Air Coryell. I'm expecting a trajectory for our offense that gets better as the season progresses. An offense that does the little things perfectly & with Sam finally see the type of plays (back should throws), where the announcers say, "that's impossible to stop". With Sams movement skills & ability to throw on the run, the Jets offense should be dictating to defenses. We should be running hurry ups occasionally that catch defenses off guard & exposed. TEs matched on CBs. LBs on slot WRs. RBs in the flat with 1 player to make miss. It's been a LONG TIME COMING waiting for an offensive Head Coach. The NFL welcomes the NY Jets back into the league!
