5 outs away from what could have been a season changing series at Wrigley.  Even if not season changing, still a chance at a really upbeat weekend at Wrigley.  And then it all comes crashing down.  Why is it that managers (I am talking about you MIckey) find it so hard to put their best reliever in the game in a tight spot with the game on the line if its earlier than the 9th inning.  One run lead, two runners on base, one of the Cubs best hitters coming up.  But its not the 9th inning, so you can't go with the closer.  He is the 9th inning guy.

And then, we completely embarrass ourselves in the locker room after the game.  Is anyone, anywhere discussing Pete Alonzo's record breaking afternoon.  No.  It is all about an altercation with a reporter in the locker room.  This team is toxic.  They need change -- and not just the new pitching coach.  Time to send Mickey packing.

Agree with all this, but every regime is the same with this awful rancid franchise. Nothing ever changes regardless of manager, regardless of gm.

Until the journos call the travesty that is the Wilpons out, over and over...and over again. Nothing will change.

The Cano trade is already looking like it's going to be all-time bad. Good lord is he useless. I can't believe they unloaded Kellenic for him after what they saw out of McNeil last year.

Team isn't capable of evaluating their own talent, and has not been for years...see Murphy, see Turner, see Dom etc.

To think Pete  was not a sure thing to be on the roster at the start of the season. Thankfully Mets made one right decision

Organization continually proves it has zero, and I do mean zero ability at assessing both free agents and its own individual players

Time to rebuild this thing right. Not bandaids in hopes of getting lucky and striking a one year run. It is just not going to happen.

Let's face facts, the Braves are going to be really, really good for the next 5 years at least. They have a stash of young pitching that is coming through the organization, and that, with the line-up that they have that will stay together for the while, no one trick ponies will be winning the NL East any time soon.

Build this thing right, re-stock the farm system (the draft thy had this summer was a good start), and forget making stupid trades that only make you older, with dreams of catching lightning in a bottle.

This will never happen under the Wilpons. This should have been the approach last off-season, but Wilpon bought BVW's magic sack of beans and thus here we are.

Still expect Wheeler or Noah to be traded to get some prospects back in the system

The Wilpons do not want prospects, they want Major League ready players to sell to us idiots that we are competing.

It is a completely ass backwards way to run a franchise, but they are in with the commissioner and no one is going to make them stop or sell so we have to suffer with this.
