TE Tomlinson and OL Qvale re-signed

Both re-signings are fine. Tomlinson gets a bad rep because he has had penalties, but he's easily the best blocking TE on the team and one of the better blocking specialists in the league. For a cheap #2 behind Herndon, he's more than adequate.

Qvale can play OT or OG, and adds versatile depth. Again, he came cheap.

Both guys could be upgraded if someone else emerges from FA or the draft, but they are both good guys to have around as veteran depth and competition.

Bodies. We need bodies.

Two bodies like this can be found in any morgue in the country.  I don't like this.  Tomlinson hurt the offense last year and very rarely helped.  Qvale never helped.  Hope the new Offensive Line Coach better be a miracle worker.  That's the only thing that could possibly help these two, On a positive note the Jets re-signed Neville Hewitt.  What's up fish? ?

Yeah because EVERY draft pick and FA signing is a HOF candidate.

New word: Depth and Camp bodies.

Nothing to see here.

I’d settle for 1 high draft pick made by Macc to make it. And don’t even try including Darnold into this conversation who was sent by God to us. Out of the countless picks made by Macc, Herndon has only emerged. Macc’s draft record rivals Idzik. Quail or Quavle whatever, and Tomlinson did absolutely nothing and do nothing to make this team better. Joke’s on you.

I liked Tomlinson for what he was in 2017.

2018 he was terrible.

Qvale is not a bad soldier either.  For cheap.

Agreed. I just mentioned yesterday when they signed Daniel Brown that I was surprised that they didn't bring Tomlinson back.

Ignoring Jamal Adams..... shame

I'll be rooting for both to get beat out in camp, but considering the Jets had quite literally the least players under contract of any team to start the FA period, they have to be signing at least a few nobodies to help fill out the roster, unless we want to have a camp and preseason that's featuring about 40 undrafted rookies.  Just as long as Maccagnan isn't stupid enough to consider either of these players any actual solution at all (a dangerous assumption of course), it's at least understandable.

Exactly.  Criticizing Macc for his mistakes is absolutely fair but not giving him credit for anything is just agenda driven IMO

I don’t Darnold was total luck but I can see that angle. Ignoring Jamal Adams, the one top level player that ACTUALLY wants to be here, and revels in it? CLOWN

Perhaps you will be available when Mac is fired.
