*******OFFICIAL NFL DRAFT DAYS THREAD*******

Recommended Posts

You could have fired Macc a year ago and nobody would have blinked. He’s been an unqualified and documented disaster since the day he took the job. But you kept him on because you were afraid of trying to find another guy willing to take a job with this sh*t franchise. And instead of trying to fix the overarching problem—your franchise being sh*t—you did nothing and hoped it would change. And here you are, with a young QB and a pack of overpaid, overdrafted, low-impact defensive players. You deserve to suck, Jets, and you deserve every bit of humiliation you’re set to incur in perpetuity. **** you.

So, how did you like the pick TOm?  Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

The Giants just one upped the Raiders.  Hahahahhhahahahha.  Another one who could have been had with their next pick.  Boy this draft is really shaping up nicely, too bad we don't have a #2 pick.   Where's the JetNation #1 consensus bpa Ed Oliver?  Huh experts??

Ed Oliver to the Bills would feel weird.

Get used to it probably gonna happen.  On Josh Allen, this is about where he should have been picked.  Not enough diversity/strength in his repertoire.

Dude, why is this a personal victory for you?

No offense to you Klecko, but the reason is for the better part of two months every one on this board who had the temerity to suggest that Quinnen Williams was a talent, equal to, and possibly better than Ed Oliver, was ripped apart, ridiculed, and told that they didn't know Jack Sh#t about football, by some of the so called "draft experts" on this board.  That's why.

You're right, but if you get a chance, go look back at some of the threads I mentioned, and you'll see who the real dicks were.

And if there’s one universal truth, it’s that being drafted by Macc means you are good.

And what about all of the other draft professionals, scouts, and other organizations coaching staffs.  Guess they all were wrong too huh, Teddy?

No one is actually saying he’s not a good player.  Just like the rest of macc’s cowardly auto-drafts, he doesn’t actually add anything that matters in today’s nfl.

You've got this one wrong Ted.  Really, really wrong.  Pressure from the middle is the new normal.  Just ask Aaron Donald.  That's what this kid will bring to our Jets, you will see......

Sorry Hawk, that makes you pretty much undraftable……  Shame.  Had you on the day 2 board.

Here's the pick for all of you who wanted Maccagnan to go off script, take a chance, think outside of the box, go for the unconventional choice, not take the best player available, don't take the safe pick, etc., etc., etc...……  All rolled into one.....   Happy now??

Fleeced us how Bean?  They got stuck with Cousins and took us off the hook from the ridiculous Anthony Barr contract.  I call that addition by subtraction.  We owe them...   Like the pick.  Offensive Linemen who push ref's can't be all bad, can they??

I hate to sound like a homer, but I'll be really surprised if BOTH of our 3rd round picks aren't big time players for the Jets.

I really like what Macc did yesterday and tonight, and if we can get one more solid contributor out of the 4th round, then some  nice depth guys, this could be the draft we've been waiting years for.

Whaaaat????  Who are you and what have you done with 14?  Wish you showed up earlier today, got a little messy with the crybabies for a while there.  Could've used a good flanker.  Anyway good post.  Our boys on the diamond are getting murdered tonight.  Pulling hard for Polite.  Good kid, bad scene.

So, I think I have finally figured out this draft thing.  Every year, I look forward to the draft.  Set aside 3 days in the end of April to do nothing but watch and talk about the draft.  Every year, the Jets do sh!t in the draft that pisses me off.  Doesn't matter who the GM is or was.  Macc, Idzik, Tanny, Bradway, Parcells.  They all pissed me off.

Then today.  Billy Joel is in concert in Milwaukee.  Bought tix a few months ago.  Going to miss day 2.  Take the wife and daughter up to Milwaukee.  Shut off all social medai for the evening.  I have no idea what happened.  I get home, turn on the DVR and start watching the draft around midnight.  Damned if I don't love the two picks we made.  Polite is a risk, but we finally took a chance on a first round talent in the 3rd.  Love Edoga -- SHell and Beachum both UFA after the season.  We have replacement for at least one of them.

As long as I don't watch; good things happen.

Just got off the phone with  Brodie Van Waganen.  He requested  that you cease and desist from watching all NY Mets games until the end of October.  Your anticipated cooperation in this matter is appreciated.  Playoff tickets to follow.

Want the corner from Penn State.  Was by far the best player on a so-so unit.  Real playmaker who covers the whole field.  Sure tackler and hitter.  Good coverage skills.  We don't need a wide receiver.

I'm glad that we amuse you.  Looking forward to your experienced insight and football knowledge that you will surely bring to this board.  A progressive, indispensable football mind such as yours is sorely lacking here.  Enlighten us chosen one.  You are making friends quickly.  Good Job.

Jets draft picks 2019:

1]  Quinnen Williams, physical, tough football player

2]  Jachai Polite, physical, tough football player

3]  Chuma Edoga, physical, tough football player

4]  Trevon Wesco, physical, tough football player

5]  Blake Cashman, physical, tough football player

notice a trend here.  That's what we've needed.  The "combine freaks" can carry on.  I want football players.

I cheer for the worst drafting team of the modern era.

I've been smited by god.

Starting to feel like you deserve the misery you're wallowing in.  Self fulfilling prophecy and all of that.  If it's schtick, ok.  If it's not it's sad.  Felt kind of bad for you yesterday, after Jalen Hurd almost fell to us.  Now, maybe not so much....

Fck you doh boy. Look around you, i'm but one, of a very loud and large collective - who feel the same way. This dickbag of a GM has fumbled draft after draft. And YOU'RE looking at me?! Like it's my problem... we just spend our last pick on a guy who's played 5 games in 2 years with two surgeries on the same knee.

If I didn't know any better, i'd probably have a more passive attitude. Unfortunately, I do.

You whiny little pissant,  you've got nerve calling me a doughboy.  You are one of a contingent of malcontents and crybabies who disparage every move that this team makes.  If you can't see the positive moves that this team has made in both free agency and the draft, that's your problem.  Don't disparage and butt fumble those of us who do.

Continue to wallow in your misery.  Enjoy your pity party.  Maybe it suits you.  Also, consider changing your name.  "Paradis" somehow doesn't fit the narrative.

One other thing, as far as the last pick goes, you have  a point.

If it seems that way pal, it's because it HAS been that bad.

  • playoff drought since 2010
  • Geno Smith
  • Hackenberg
  • 6 early picks on DTs in 9 drafts
  • 14 safeties
  • the worst carry over roster
  • no WR taken in the 1st since 2001
  • 2 WRs taken in round 2. Hill & Smith
  • no playmakers, have to buy them all; Matt Forte, Crowell, Decker, etc etc
  • the worst draft record
  • Ardarius Steward
  • the worst draft record

If you're finished being a self-righteous big bird, maybe you can walk me through why I'M THE PROBLEM

Didn't say you were the problem,  just a Sad Sack.  Feel better now?  Talk to me in December.  Giving me a history lesson that dates back to 2010 doesn't do much for your case.  I don't like the playoff drought any more than you do.  Difference is, I don't sit around crying about it.

Geno Smith and Hackensuck were second round draft picks. How many first round draft picks have been burned league wide on quarterback busts in the last ten years?  How many by just the Broncos alone?  Do we have a quarterback now?  You bet we do.  But focus on that, ok?

Six early picks on DT's in 9 drafts?  You're criticizing the current regime here aren't you?  Maccagnan has picked two.  Shepard last year and Quinnen Williams this year.  Williams will be a star.  So at worst, that's one out of two.  Check around the league, ie. the 49ers for one, That's not horrendous. As for the other three, Wilkerson was a pro bowler as was Sheldon Richardson.  Hardly busts, more a problem with personality than playing potential.  Both are still in the league.  Kendrick Ellis was a bust.  Anyway, that's five, and what they have to do with the current regime, beyond Williams and Shepard is beyond me.

14 safeties?  I don't know where you got that one from.  Maccagnan has drafted two.  One is a pro bowler, his name escapes me Presmal something or other.  The other Marcus Maye is very talented, albeit hurt last year.  In my opinion he will turn out to be a very good player.  Time will tell.

The wide receivers drafted in the first round have been historically poor.  You can look it up.  How many went in the first round this year? I won't defend the picks of Stewart, Smith or Hansen.  Didn't like them then, don't like them now.

The worst draft record you mentioned twice.  You must like that one.  As for buying playmakers, I don't have a problem with that.  If you have them on your team, what difference does it make how they got there.

Now that history class is over how about the current roster.  Sam Darnold, Jamaal Adams, Marcus Maye, Quinnen Williams, Chris Herndon, Robbie Anderson, Jordan Jenkins, LeVeon Bell, CJ Moseley, Jamison Crowder, Henry Anderson, Kelechi Osmele, and others are all here because of the current regime. Why not focus on this class of players instead of wallowing in the past. That's what I chose to do.  There's nothing self-righteous about it.  The self righteous ones are those who butt fumble anyone who doesn't ascribe to their position.  That's not me.  That's you.

It must be nice to live in your own private Idaho.... where you pick and chose which narratives you'll be honoring with your recognition.

By the way, you forgot Leonard. That's 3 DTs under his watch.. in teh early rounds. Double that if you want to include late sh*t...

If you didn't get the memo, that rant was addressing the last 10+ years of ineptitude. That's how trauma works. It compounds. Join me some day. I'm married with children. And i cheer for the Jets.

I also am married with children.  And I've been rooting for the Jets for over 50 years.  I also am a Met, Knick, and Ranger fan, so don't tell me about trauma.    I didn't pick and choose anything.  You made the list. As for the rant, why was the magical 10year mark chosen.  Why not go back to the Super Bowl season.  After that you could make yourself good and miserable.

The point of the matter is this.  We are living in the here and now. That is where I choose to live, not some "private Idaho".  That's for the B 52's not me.   In the here and now, the future looks a hell of a lot better than when Toilet Bowles and Co. were here. Problem is that you and the "Chicken Little" brigade act like we have no right to feel that way.  We're not blind or "fanboys".  We're just not choosing to be miserable.  Life  is too short.  Real Fans don't choose their teams based on a winning percentage.  Obviously you know that.  In the meantime, get well soon.
