Sick comeback, Giants. Really put us in our place there.

We'll see what they are saying about it 5 years from now when Barkley's body is starting to break down and Darnold isn't even in his athletic prime yet.

You've had since December to make your pick!!!

It's not the Cardinals. It's the league. They drag it out for TV.

Is that true, no big ten QB in the 1st since 1995

I certainly can't think of one off the top of my head

Boy ESPN sure isn't talking about anyone else than Kyler.  Tipping the pick without technically tipping?

Absolutely.

And apparently no one is that interested in trading for Rosen. That guy's reputation must be dookie.

Jets will now get the 2nd best player in the draft because the Cardinals are retarded.

So much for all of your "smokescreen" talk, huh?

I really don't like how everyone is comparing this guy to Russell Wilson.

Wilson is SUCH a unique player. Hard guy to mimic

Please let SF keep the pick and take Bosa

I mean, I will not complain if they trade out and we end up with Bosa . . .

Or perhaps teams are keeping their powder dry. Trade market could heat up for Rosen.

Possibly, but you just hear so many guys who are lukewarm on him

Why is everyone bitching about Williams?

Because he reminds everyone of the Williams we already have - a guy how is the least popular decent player in the history of this franchise

Someone is going to be very happy with Josh Allen who didn't expect to see him on the board...

Giants would be my guess.

A DT who does what you need in today’s game.

What does he do that Williams doesn't do?

Because those generational talents lead the jets to the 29th ranked defense and 5 wins

Well, first of all, I personally wouldn't call Adams a generational talent.

I'm just pointing out the rather obvious verity that it is awfully hard to be disappointed with Adams as a player.

Also, there are many reasons why the Jets had the 29th ranked defense (awful coaching stands out to me, among many more specific issues). Jamal Adams was not one of them.

He’s better than whatever the Giants reached for at 6. If he isn’t I’ll eat my hat

I haven't seen Daniel Jones play a lick, so I'm not going to go nuts. But yeah . . . That was a stunner

Maybe. I never thought of Haskins as a legit top 5 prospect, myself. 15 seems reasonable for him.

Cody Ford

Byron Murphy

Dk Metcalf

AJ Brown

Winovich are all available going into day 2.

Would love me some AJ Brown, but I imagine he will be picked somewhere in the second round

Forget the how of it! If you want to shoot yourself, the problem isn't "with what gun". The problem is that you want to kill yourself in the first place.

I.e. with the list of players that slipped to the 2nd, we want to trade up for the juice box?!😲😫

lol

The Falcons just did what the Jets should've done. 2-1st round lineman to protect their franchise QB. What a novel idea.

Apples and tigers.

The Jets had a top 3 pick in a draft without a QB worth trading up for and no OL worth taking that high. Meanwhile, the Falcons had a mid round pick in the 1st and then enough draft capital to move back into the tail end of the round.

Help me understand how you define "worth".

Help me understand which QB (or other positional player?) you think a team was willing to sell the farm to move up to #3 for.

A massive blocking/pass catching weapon was picked at #8.  I'd say that was worth #3 for US, more than yet another huped-up run-stopping DT, for example.

Your assumption that Williams is merely a run-stopper is understandable but far from proven. Time will tell.

I understand the need argument, but listen, our defense was ranked 29th last year. While coaching had a lot to do with that, I can't blame the Jets for taking a guy they think will be an impact player on their defensive line. In order for the pick to work out, QW and LW have to ball out. You double team one, the other guy makes you pay more often than not. That sort of thing.

I'm not sure if that will happen, but that's what the Jets are presumably banking on .

Jonah Williams at 3 would have been much more valuable to this team next year than Quinnen will be. People get too wrapped up in rankings. Take the player that will help your team the most, enough of this best player available no matter what nonsense. If the bpa next year is a DT does that mean they'll take another one? It's just an excuse for Macc bc he has no balls to go against the grain. The Jets need a young aggressive GM. Enough of these old school dumbasses. The game has passed them by.

Eh, I can't necessarily agree.

I think QW has more upside than Johah WIlliams.

Again, the weakest unit on the team last year was actually our defense.

Quinnen is Leo 2.0. That's not a good thing. We now have 2 players that were drafted in the top 6 (concensus best player in each draft) that can't get to the QB. Oh but they can sure hit then a 1/2 a second after they get rid of the ball.

The Jets don't have one person on the team that can get to the QB quickly. Add in the fact that they have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL and that's a big problem.

But a lot of folks seem to think that QW can (and will) get to the QB.

Also, an interior pass rush, when you have it, gets there before edge pass rush. . . . it's just a lot harder to come by.
