Typical Mac. Typical Jets.

In before our D finishes 23rd in 2019.

Any talk of trades with Macc should stop. He’s just not capable.

Another utterly rote pick.

Calling it now, CB #1 pick in 2020.

I guess we can no look forward to the 4th or 5th rated center in the 3rd round now.

Quinnen is going to look good consoling darnold after he is being hauled off the field.

Mocks I saw has us take D at every pick.

Macc is know for thinking his patchwork FA JAG Oline is “good enough”.

I doubt we draft a Center.

At this point, you have to eat the loss on Darron Lee and Leo, and just get what you can for them. The WR and OL talent through R2 are too good to just sit and watch others pick from.

Not gonna happen.

We stand pat, draft more D Saturday.

3 times Jets have drafted top 6, and gone D

With no one to rush the pass rusher.

Super classy move by the Bucs here

15 of the last 18 years we drafted D with a 1st round pick.

Its what we do.

Another first round stud for Macc.

I'll remember to necro this thread in Sept when Greg Williams has these guys feasting on offenses.

Will also necro if we’re ranked 23 in Defense?

Since the fu mack threat was locked I'll say it here. I think that anyone who starts a thread that is locked by a mod should be banned permanently. Some guys take it way too far. Were all jets fans and people will argue this pick until the cows come home, but come on. Stop with the whining already!

Be positive only or face permaban?

Grats to Vikings getting my OTHER favorite player this draft. Stud Center is a stud.

Or maybe the sunshine crowd could just learn to tolerate other opinions and stop telling everyone how they have to feel (or else permaban).

I predict he will become one of the most beloved Jets ever.

An only slightly less common claim on draft night than the “best player in draft” claim.

Apples and tigers.

The Jets had a top 3 pick in a draft without a QB worth trading up for and no OL worth taking that high. Meanwhile, the Falcons had a mid round pick in the 1st and then enough draft capital to move back into the tail end of the round.

Help me understand how you define "worth".

A massive blocking/pass catching weapon was picked at #8.  I'd say that was worth #3 for US, more than yet another huped-up run-stopping DT, for example.

Do we care what talking heads on ESPN or Fatcessa says, or do we can about scoring points, winning games and supporting/protecting Darnold?

Jonah Williams at 3 would have been much more valuable to this team next year than Quinnen will be. People get too wrapped up in rankings. Take the player that will help your team the most, enough of this best player available no matter what nonsense. If the bpa next year is a DT does that mean they'll take another one? It's just an excuse for Macc bc he has no balls to go against the grain. The Jets need a young aggressive GM. Enough of these old school dumbasses. The game has passed them by.

So very much this.

I'll say it, and stand by it if I turn out wrong:  I'd have preferred Heckenson, Bradbury or Jonah Williams at Pick #3 over Q Williams.

Games aren't won with rankings or "best player in the draft" hyperbole, it's won by building an offense that scores more then the opponent does and keeps the franchise QB upright.

Any of those three would help us win more than another DT.

Again, the weakest unit on the team last year was actually our defense.

Not by much.

And that Defense has been gifted 15 of our last 18 year's worth of 1st round picks.

Think about that, and perhaps my preference for a monster blocking, pass catching TE for Darnold to pair with Herndon and Bell and Crowder might make more sense.  /shrug.

ESPN has Winovich as the current BAP who isn't a QB.

And we know Macc and BAP.

BAP on O is well down the list.

Everyone complains that Mac doesn't take a chance

With first round picks, yes.

With lower round picks, he takes risks all the time.

Pre-Draft Analysis

Edoga is a shorter-than-average tackle with solid bulk and good arm length. He gets set quickly and has a powerful punch. He's an easy mover with the ability to handle speed off the edge and adjust to double moves. As a run-blocker, he has the power to jolt defenders, but he becomes an erratic finisher and his legs die on contact too often. He lacks discipline and he's been highly penalized.

Scepticism and criticism =/= rooting for our team to fail.

Just say'in.

We all root for the team to win and our players to do well.  Some of us can also discuss things rationally at the same time.
