I disagree, he plays and looks nothing like Lorenzo Mauldin, Polite looks like he’s shot out of a cannon. The guy was projected 1st rounder until the disaster that was his combine. I feel we’ve stole an 8-10 sack man.

I agree, this guy has a very high ceiling and could absolutely end up playing like a first rounder.  But if he does not work out then he gets added to the list of day two failures from the Macc era.  Hackenburg, Stewart, Mauldin, etc.

His combine and pre-draft process is the only reason we could even sniff this guy in the third round.

The interview in the OP really makes this seem like a steal.  His agent and handlers did not prepare him well. Should have never had him run if he was having hamstring issues. He would have been better declining to run and standing just on his film. Probably would’ve been an early second round pick in that case.  Comes across as extremely humble and grounded. He knows what happened and understands why he is getting knocked for how he handled the interviews, he just had no idea that it was essentially a business or job interview. I think the guy walked into every interview expecting to talk about football X’s and O’s, and hadn’t really thought about discussing his life and work ethic in detail.

 Let’s hope that we are capitalizing on the mistakes that many other teams made here.

My impression from this interview is he's a good kid and just needs some guidance. Really coming around on this pick for a third rounder!

I'm going to root for him!

Agreed, he’s a roll of the dice and based on the small sample sized interview, he seems completely overwhelmed by the business that is the NFL.

He can definitely play. but he’ll need the drive and desire to be “all in”

odds are completely against him even making the team. He might bounce around the league a la Aaron Maybin.

minchovich was the safer bet.

he came out a year too early. if you compare where polite is now and where josh allen was at this point last year you can really see how it would have benefited him to come back for his senior season. he’s a 21 year old kid that needs to be challenged and held accountable- he seems like the kind of pick the cowboys like to make in the second or third round
