Interesting article on Polite from his college DC

It is tough for kids.  A lot would benefit by staying in school that extra year.  Ideally also to take some classes, but to physically mature and mentally prepare for the next level.

They also want to get to the NFL, make some money, and get to that 2nd contract.  Plus, if they get hurt, they waste a year and lose out on $$$

Classic boom or bust prospect

unlike years past, this staff, this locker room can help a guy like that.

He has a lot to prove, that will motivate him or bury him

I think having massive interior forces like Quinnen/Leonard and inside Lbers like Mosley/Williams will help draw attention away from what he will be trying to do on the edge. Year 1, likely a passing down specialist. Hopefully he evolves into something more.

I hope I’m wrong I really do but this guy is from Daytona Beach. I know the area well. He’s gonna grab his money and party up. He won’t be a Jet 4 years from now. I’d be surprised if he’s still in the NFL 4 years from now. Most likely an injury will start the ball rolling downhill. He will be happy with the money he gets from his 3rd round contract. I hope to see him at the Daytona Poker room so I can take some of that money. I really really hope I’m wrong but he’s boom or bust right? Sorry but my call is bust. Prove me wrong please.

Is it inexpensive to retire there? Just concerned for his mom

Pretty barbaric, right? Kicker is that was the year of the Waldo post.

god yes that was the beginning of the end- I remember that offseason well. my favorite were the wild accusations that brooks reed’s father was spamming the JI boards with his draft campaign

He can get her a real nice house for 300k. 500-600k on the inter coastal. It’s very reasonable. I’m a realtor. Have Mr. Polite give me a call and I will find a deal for his mom. I’m sure I’m on his good side with that ringing endorsement lol.

Anybody remember Jarvis Jones?  He looked like a monster coming out of Georgia.  Pittsburgh took him at #17.  He is in Arizona now but has been barely noticeable since he was drafted.

Not sure why but Polite reminds me of him.

P.S. Edit:  Now I find out Grantham coached Jarvis Jones after googling it.  How ironic.

I know what you mean but I think jones just wasn’t enough of an athlete to cut it at the next level. the last top prospect I remember showing up fat and bombing the combine was vontaze burfict- although he had a whole additional set of baggage with sociopathic tendencies
