Return ..of Tannenbaum

Recommended Posts

So rich cimini was just on ESPN Radio and says there was definitely something to the disagreements between Gase and Maccagnan. Honestly I didn't buy into it at first but he confirmed that they had some serious disputes over personnel and free agency? He said it's definitely something to keep an eye on. That being said, Tannenbaum has recently been doing radio, and WTF is that? If he's available how do you feel about bringing him back? Sign YOURSELF up Tanny!!!??

If we fire Macc we should probably elevate Heimerdinger, if not look for an outside candidate.

Bigger question - Who actually does the search and executes the hiring process?  Chris Johnson?

Not a far stretch, although not sure Tanny is the guy here.  The most similar situation would be Jacksonville where Coughlin was brought in to basically replace Khan, the owner.  Neil Glat is not that guy.  The question is whether there is that kind of person out there right now who could manage both Macc and Gase together.  Tanny is an interesting choice, assuming he has a good relationship with Gase... also his Trader Mike persona would be a good complement to the over-thinking and deliberative Macc.   But he is not a born and bred football guy.  Mike Shanahan on the other hand?

Why?

Tannenbaum has at least one foot out of the door in Miami and is probably dumped before the start of the next season. His only real capacity seems to be to sign ridiculously large contracts for players everybody agrees are good which is to say he has no skill to manage a roster. Maybe he has decent skills in a much, much lower position in an organization but why bring him in over any other individual with a similar skillset?

Tannenbaum is probably going to go back into an agency representing mid-level players constantly surprised nobody will agree to contracts he thinks are fair.

Hey listen Tannenbaum was actually great with Mangini. It was only when fat Rex got here that everything went awry and Haywire. And you can also thank mr. Woody for that insistence that we get Brett Favre. I kind of feel that Tannenbaum was a scapegoat for a lot of things. He was actually great with draft trades and I believe he actually delivered what the coaches wanted as all of these guys work in conjunction with each other.

Given the history of both parties, it definitely is. Given the nature of our owner, this is going to blow up spectacularly with either Gase resigning abruptly or Mac being fired and we shotgun wedding a new GM.

I will admit to being titillated

A hard pass on that one, thanks.

So can we now agree that Gase v Maccagnan is a real thing?

From what cimini said it was definitely a real thing and Chris Johnson actually had to step in. He said they have all had a meeting since and it's all blown over now. But definitely something to keep an eye on.

By chance, was the follow up question to Cimini, “Have you tried reaching out to Gase for comment?” Because that would seem pertinent and the fact that no one has gotten Gase on the record suggests one of two things: 1. These reporters are just that lazy or 2. Gase has, in fact, spoken to them and he’s the source of the stories regarding hating Macc

All it's gonna take for Maccagnan to get the boot is one rough preseason game where Darnold is running for his life or Bell cannot find any open space and gets stuffed all night by a bunch of guys trying to make the Giants or Eagles . Coffee Boy did PRACTICALLY NOTHING to prevent that kind of disaster. Williams is a nice kid but he basically replaces Williams. Spare Edoga; that pick made sense unless you're Rich Cimini and thinks it's 1954 and smoking a joint is the end of America. Half thinking he was picked because Gase was in a corner somewhere at Florham Park losing his sheet.

The holes on this roster at WR and OL and screaming, glaring and dangerous. The corner from Rutgers; you take a guy who will sTart on the PUP list? WTF? Talks about taking an LB for specials; specials is where your leftovers go,so  spare returners or kickers, you don't draft it. There was no OL or WR over that? This is the problem; he's a scout, he falls in love with players and their stories, has no grasp how to manage a 53 man roster.

We really dont have holes at WR. Not in this day and age where #1 WRs are different shapes and sizes
