I mean..  has a GM ever been fired right after FA and the draft?

When did Gase become Belichick?

Oh well..  thanks for some of the great moves Macc Man!

Hopefully Gase doesn't f this up.

Bills did it a couple of years ago.  Fired Rex at the end of 2016 season and then fired Dooug Whaley as GM after the 2017 draft.  Worked out okay for them. They made the playoffs in 2017 ending an 18 year drought.

Didn’t Manish say this rumor was BS?  Another feather in his cap.

Yup.  And he is starting to go after them.

I am just thankful that Macc did not trade away any 2020 draft picks last month (althought it sounds like he may have tried).  At least our new GM will have a full complement of picks to play with.

Curious to see who they can get to take the job.

Rumor is they are intersted in Joe Douglas -- personnel guy with the Eagles who overlapped with Gase in Chicago.

That's my issue but better late than never .

Agreed.  Better late than never.  But we just let Macc preside over an offseason with $100MM cap space and the 3rd overall pick in the draft.  A good GM could  have done an awful lot to make this team over with those resources.  A wasted opportunity.  But yes, better late than never.

We should still have plenty of money next year and this time a 2nd rounder.

Agreed, but that is still a year from now.  I am frustrated by the opportunity cost of allowing Macc to preside over another offseason and then firing him now.  should have been done 4 months ago.  14-34 shoudl have been enough to convince CJ that he was not the answer.  Who knows how much different this roster (and coaching staff) might look now if Macc had been canned in January.

Is what it is now.  Time to move on and hope for the best.
