I don't know the Philly guy.  We need to hire a guy who has a history of being involved in some good drafts.  Neither Idzik or Macc had this on their resume and we hired them anyway.  Let's get it right this time!

Philly drafts (and this may or may not represent Douglas) are ok.They are some good and bad (line everyone else). Not afraid to take risks.

The manage the cap very, very effectively. They play the compensation game extremely smartly.

That is a quick thumbnail.

It truly is absurd.

As has been said by many people, the Johnsons are and always have been the issue here. Glad Mac is gone but it should've happenned with Bowles.

Obviously not multitaskers.

Hiring a GM and coach at the same time, too much bandwidth required.

Any chance we hear from the owner and he outlines what’s going on? @Scott Dierking or should we not expect any sort of transparency and suck it up?

Now would be a time for clarification of a plan moving forward. Thanks for asking.

Just curious as you led the charge on transparency being unimportant

The transparency you wanted was not going to come, for obvious reasons. And still won't.

This could also mean that Gase is safe after this year unless there is a total collapse. All he has to do is blame Mac for not giving him the pieces to win.

Right now, they are flying without a flight plan. All bets are off. Buckle your seatbelts.

UPDATES

latest reports

- Adam Gase did not know this am this was happening

- Rumor is the rift that something “went down” between Heimidinger and Maccagnan which caused Johnson to act to end dysfunction

- Gase does NOT want this on his plate. He is focused on developing Sam, just moved his family here, had nothing to do with this.

Or, these could be planted stories by the Jets to shelter Gase to some degree.

You just never know where the splatter lands or whom it will hit in this org.

So, in 1.5 years <insert hired GM's name here> makes it known through press leaks that he is not happy with a coach whom he did not hire.

This will bandy about and percolate for about 6 months.

And then <insert GM's name here> will subjugate himself to <insert acting owner's name here> to pick his coach for him.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

That makes this even sweeter Brian Costello is a joke!!!!

So wait, a writer actually just came to the conclusion that he is manipulated by those that he receives source material?

It is no wonder he continues to be a writer.

The amount of styrofoam that needs to evacuated from that office is going to lend a toxicity to area landfills in the Mid-Atlantic region for decades.

That is all well and fine for Gase to say that but if you do not pay those guys that much you do not get them.

Oh, I'm happy with getting Tom Brady but I wouldn't have paid more than 5 mill a year.

The elevation of Gase to god status on this team within 5 or 6 months is very troubling.  This is not Bellichik we are talking about here.

Very dangerous ground the Jets are treading on right now.

Not that Macc was any hero, but a vacuum power void can turn this thing very toxic. And the characters that are lurking can turn things fast.

Lol so should we be blaming Heimindinger?

That would be "deferred" Michael.

This is where a Jeremiah hire (with Douglas) would do a world of good for Gase and the Jets because Jeremiah would be a really good spokesperson for the team besides. They’ll whack at Gase because Gase isn’t going to entertain it, but if you placate them with a few coherent sound bytes once a week, the coverage will calm down.

Do you feel that there is some kind of deal here in place already? Shouldn't there be a handshake agreement? It has to be. Right?

And are they about to get Barr'ed?

BTW, talking heads here in Philly are already saying the Eagles need to give Douglas any title that he wants to stay, and give him final say on all personnel.

Good take. Could easily see this being the truth.

But why Heimerdinger too?

Hopefully because they have a handshake agreement with someone in place, that already has some of his people in tow. That way, the new person does not have any blood on his hands at that level.

So, I am sure this is not the case.

He also got an extension after last season, so he’s making bank as a fired employee now too. Through at least this time next season I bet.

Through 2020 season
