No. He’s coming off as a guy who doesn’t factor in what coaches want. That’s a huge negative. He’s also coming off as a guy who is indecisive. I thought he would benefit if the Jets play well. But nah. Those are two show stoppers.

plus other GM's could not deal with him - does not seem like he built any relationships except for Charlie who should be fired from NFLN for supporting him

70% of his draft picks are out of the NFL before a second contract - not winning

I have no issues with them firing Mac,,,my issue is the timing it is just horrid. Noe stories are leaking out (take them with a grain of salt) that Gase would trade Bell, it is an opiion piece but this is what firing your gm at this time of the yr does. it opens the team to these reports

How can Maccagnan be considered a winner, if he now has no chance to ever reassume a position as a General Manager in the NFL. That is a loss in anyone's estimation.

Although the perception always has been that he was insulated, not dynamic, and a less than effective leader, the reports that have come out post firing have not only reinforced those suspicions, but enhanced them.  The culture of secrecy surrounding the organization served Maccagnan well, probably extending his tenure two seasons. Now that those failings have been exposed to the light, his future looks bleak.

His track record in drafting, has been ridiculed throughout league circles.  Add to that the timing of his dismissal, any repair to his reputation resulting from successes of this current free agent and draft class will be lost.

Going forward, he can most likely look to returning as a college scout for another NFL organization.  That cannot be considered "winning" in anybody's  book.
