Continuing to purge the roster as the team’s interim GM, Adam Gase and the Jets have waived tight end Jordan Leggett according to Field Yates.

The Jets are waiving TE Jordan Leggett, per source. Another Mike Maccagnan draft pick out in New York.

— Field Yates (@FieldYates) May 20, 2019

After missing all of his rookie season sans a few snaps due to injury, Leggett was a part-time player in 2018 and had 14 receptions for 114 yds and a touchdown.

If I am the TEMPORARY GM, what is the point of making a PERMANENT cut like this of a mediocre player on the roster?

Don’t get me wrong, I never liked the player or the pick.  But maybe let him show up to camp and someone trades for him?

Just seems like a bit of scorched earth.
