1994 at the latest.

The Jets haven't been relevant for 50 years until BroadwayJoe handed over the Lombardi to the Patriots.

This is the 2nd (maybe the 1st) greatest moment in Jet's history!

1994? Seriously?

They only got above .500 all time in what, 2006 or 2007.

Give it a rest troll...

So it's agreed then-you have no answer as to why the Boston Patriots had to change their name to New England in order to try to pry football fans in their area from following New York teams.

That's not true. It was not to pry New York fans..it was cause of their move to foxboro 20 mins from Boston and it was to grab all the fans in new England area..nothing to do with New York or jersey...

Although if they did. How is that bad. It's a business...

Because you're more than likely a guy, posing as a clueless chick on a Jets forum talking about the Pats.

What is known is youre a troll who in every post ends with why aren't the Jets.....

Let me get this straight a team that has won by deflating balls and and recording other teams walk throughs stealing signals and have been accused of playing tricks with the radios. Who would not have played Brady without Mo lewis, the entire foundation of the team is built on lies and cheating has fans here trolling. Ethically and morality have no valid ground to talk trash when the best part of your transgender qb is his wife. Time and honesty catchup to all and the. Heating last and good all have a crap load to pay for.c

The secret of the past is seeing how far they can bend the rules without getting caught like your owner in WPB. What do you think everyone who has left the cheaters have failed, because the team's they are going to has some common decency to not cheat all the time.

We all know if overall had ball after tape gate the cheaters should have been banned for life and draft picks lost a d fines but instead taped were destroid. Do t believe me ask the eagles, steelers, or any team they played.

ROFLMAO!!  So you admit that you had trouble attracting fans as the Boston Patriots so you tried the regional name baloney.  Notice the Celtics  don't have any plans to call themselves the New England Celtics.  Why not?  Because they get all the fans they want calling themselves after their city, like everyone else.

Changing to a regional name = Desperation.

Because their home base is IN BOSTON!! that's why they  are called the Boston celtics..I mean really what is the point you are trying to make? Teams/franchises move all the time and change their name.

Sooo a franchise in the 70s moved and marketed themselves to surrounding areas, and??? That's a bad thing? Petty argument.

Let me know when the jets will actually move out of the Giants stadium and actually move to their own in jersey..

Somehow New England Strong doesn’t resonate as much as Boston Strong.

They change their name when they move to a different metropolitan area, not when they stay in the same one.  Lots of NFL teams have their stadium in the suburbs of their home city but they all keep their metro affiliation.  Did the Dallas Cowboys change their name when they moved to Arlington, TX?  No.  And the same for all the others.  The Jets are in suburban NYC, but they stay the NY Jets.  They don't sleaze out and call themselves the Middle Atlantic Jets because they're losing fans to teams from other metro areas, unlike the Patriots.

Hahaha.

She probably has some kind of filtered view from her secure box with 2 armed guards at the door, where she only sees the field.

Why do you think Brady and Gizelle own a condo in Manhattan they live in during the offseason?

What team are you talking about here? You mentioned the celtics now your back to the Patriots??

I didnt mentioned any Boston team moving to the same area but still changed their name..

I know foxboro is not boston..so why continue to be called boston...

Your last paragraph makes no sense...the name change has nothing to do with n.y...let me know when did v.t., n.h, Maine, Connecticut started a pro team that the Patriots were trying to steal away their fans..

like why are you even debating this crap that happened in the 70s ...to another franchise..??

why did the jets experienced some type of success around then that the record books missed or something?

DUH, and the Patriots were a team that originally had its home base in BOSTON.  Who didnt bite.  They didnt move towards their "fanbase" they changed their name, thats it.  How hard is this? The fanbase was made up of Giants fans.  Why are you arguing, why is that bothersome to you? It is what it is.

Is it any wonder that Pats fans dont have a clue of their own adopted teams history?  LOL

Youre right.

And in true brainiac logic you think going to two SBs, losing both, one in a total embarrassment of a blowout is somehow better than going to only one but winning it.  As the most influential win in the leagues history.

And somehow into this century the Pats didnt have a winning record vs the Jets.  ANd are only 10 over .500 today.  SO F off with the glorious history outside of the Brady/Beli/Cheating years

Wow!!

What makes up the states of New England boys n girls...with Massachusetts and Connecticut being a part of that.

About 20 mins from Boston is Foxboro. Foxboro is a part of Mass and Mass. is a part of N.E. so I will let you figure the rest out..

And unpopular to the uninformed here in this thread

Connecticut was never made up of 100 percent giant fans and definitely not 80 percent giants with a tiny..tiny...little bit being jet fans

...Connecticut has always been split geographically from Boston to n.y. in terms of any sport..fact not opinion

And nor did they strategically change their name to lore away any n.y. fan for any reasons.....it just made sense to call themselves N.E.

I know...I know we all cant be as intelligent as you....

U do momma "jet nut" so proud everytime you log on...

Still waiting on my Easter dinner invite..well  now it would just have to be a summer time BBQ...

Huh, never think he’d wear a NY cap, but I guess psychologically it must really irk him that everything he has done has been in a 3rd rate sh*thole town....and not the biggest stage of them all....New York.

He could win 10 Super Bowls there and then to a lot of people, and they don’t even have to be Jet fans, will think of Joe Namath’s 1, as being a bigger accomplishment and meaning more to the league than anything Brady has done...lot of it is due to WHERE.

Forget about the illegal stuff.  These guys take massive amounts of painkillers before games, have prescriptions for ADHD meds like Ritalin (which is like Cocaine when you take a lot of it) and take so many stimulants that they're wired to the hilt without an inch of feeling in their bodies come game time.

That's in many ways more important performance wise than the pure strength and muscle builders/cardio boosters b/c it allows them to go full speed without a regard for anything.

They get Adderall...whose generic name is methamphetamine.

You said it.  That is tantamount to an admission that Foxboro is a suburb of Boston.   Well guess what-LOTS of NFL teams have moved into the suburbs but they don't try to con us with this "Now we're regional" baloney.

The Dallas Cowboys play in Arlington TX, but they don't insult our intelligence by saying they don't represent Dallas.

The San Francisco 49ers play in nearby Santa Clara but don't pretend they don't represent the San Francisco area.

The Buffalo Bills play in Orchard Park but make it clear that they represent Buffalo, and so do their fans.

None of these nor any of the other teams with suburban stadiums humiliate themselves by trying to claim regionality by having their stadiums only a few miles outside the major city's line.

As long as you are going bipolar on us, why not just say that NE is part of the US, the US is part of Earth, Earth is part of the Milky Way and the Milky Way is part of the Universe.  And therefore Patriots now represent the Universe because their stadium is twenty minutes outside of Boston.

He pretended to negotiate with Connecticut and Hartford to move there, but he was just using that to get a better deal for a stadium in the Boston area.  Afterward, Connecticut, who had sunk in funds developing the idea, realized they got suckered.  No way Kraft is moving from the 10th largest metro area to the 45th largest.

Especially one half the distance from the New York metro area  to Boston-he was having problems with losing fans to the NY area already.

They didn't change their name-they stayed the Patriots.  They just tried a sleazy, stupid and underhanded way of trying to proclaim themselves as representing a whole region, when all the other NFL teams who play in suburban stadiums correctly keep the name of their metro area.

Dallas, San Francisco, etc are proud of their metro area.  Not so the Patriots-they try to hide it.
