Eaton Beaver
It looks like Gerald McCoy won’t be without a team for very much longer. McCoy was released by the Buccaneers last week after nine seasons in Tampa Bay. The veteran defensive tackle originally was slated for a 2019 base salary of $13 million, a price the Bucs evidently felt was too steep for the six-time Pro Bowl selection. It was reported last Thursday that at least six teams were interested in signing McCoy on the open market. Now, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the field for McCoy is down to two. Free agent DT Gerald McCoy’s visit to the #Ravens has essentially ended, though his agent and the Baltimore brass will now speak to see if they can do a deal. At this point, it’s #Browns or #Ravens for McCoy. If the price isn’t right, McCoy could visit a third team. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 29, 2019 Read more at: https://nesn.com/2019/05/nfl-rumors-gerald-mccoy-sweepstakes-down-to-these-two-afc-teams/ Ian Rapoport ✔ @RapSheet Free agent DT Gerald McCoy’s visit to the #Ravens has essentially ended, though his agent and the Baltimore brass will now speak to see if they can do a deal. Sorry it doesn’t support your argument.

It doesn’t change the fact that a player and the level of McCoy and Suh is worth a top draft pick and will also get a big second contract. jetstream23
We all know that the only statistic that matters is sacks. I mean, you can't even debate it. It's like interceptions for a Safety apparently. So don't try to say anyone is good unless they have lots of sacks and lots of interceptions. I mean....lots!!! 3

Unless you can draft what you think might be a dominant NT for the next 10-12 years

Well it won't be a player of this years Bucs D , that might be their Dline total for the season with Mr 3-4 Bowles at the helm .

Local sports radio guy Ian Beckles has been telling the Tampa Bay area for years now. Very few were listening because PFF and the national media fawned over him. Beckles was right. Even more so now that McCoy has lost a step and a half. If it turns out you're right about Adams, ya might wanna consider that lone wolf Beckles was too.

So far according to the Church of Shanology, safeties and defensive tackles are completely dispensable in the modern NFL defense. In other words, spineless defenses are the new rage. I’m just pointing out that on May 30th, your football team could pick up All Pros Gerald McCoy and Eric Berry for nothing, but you couldn’t even find a backup offensive lineman or a decent WR even a month ago. It says something about where you need to devote your resources and priorities.
jamesr
And now the two teams is becoming three as neither is shelling out enough $$$ for McCoy, so he's off to see Carolina instead.
