jetstream23
It's basically getting absurd now. Not sure if the media is trying to saturate the environment with Jets negativity or poison the mind of our young QB, but one alternative thought I have.....Maybe they see the realistic probability that the Jets are a rising team with a bright future...and they don't want to see that because Jets dysfunction sells papers and generates clicks. Even Caporoso sees it.... 1 1

Popular Post Lith
Never undestood why people get so bent out of shape over a bad story in media. We have plenty of cap space now and for next season. The article is BS. Factually incorrect. Ignore it and move on. Media enjoys portraying Jets as bumbling, incompentent losers, and lets face it, we haven't done enough to prove them wrong since 2010 (or 1968). Win games. Consistently. And the narrative will change. Another season of double digit losses and it will be more of the same. 7

ChuckkieB
Can't wait for all of these dopes to eat their words when the Jets start putting up W's when the season starts. Until then, this is all clickbait nonsense from a bunch of uninformed morons. 3
HawkeyeJet
I think it's simply because it's easy and will generate clicks. This time of year is usually filled with optimistic fluff pieces, so these types of articles are becoming more prominent (not just for the Jets or NFL) because they can say look how objective and grounded we are. The same type of authors likely destroyed the Browns up until last October and now wave their pom poms. I like Russillo a lot, but he's an NBA and College Football guy.

bitonti
On the surface level a team with no GM doesn't really have a plan does it. but Jets fans need to be honest about our place in the NFL foodchain. We are the heel. The team everyone loves to hate. Everyone in flyover country, all the neutrals, if NFL is on TV and it's any team vs the NYJ, they root against the NYJ. The Giants have the majority of the fans locally, which means we have no real home territory. Facebook does this ranking there's still not a single county in America where Jets fans outnumber Giants fans (or all other fans) A team like that is perfect to be the testing ground for TB12's scheme-hatchery, no one cares if the jets lose. Even half our fans are rooting for losses for draft status. the buttfumble? Geno Smith getting his jaw broken by a teammate? If the Jets didn't exist the league would have to make them up.

I couldn’t give a half baked crap that there are more Giant fans than Jet fans in every county and I don’t know anyone in Missouri so their feelings about the Jets- positive or negative- have zero impact on my rooting interests. I’m not big on the country respecting or disrespecting my franchise. In any way. Does not matter to me.
JoJoTownsell1
Remember 8-10 months ago the Browns were a joke, they fired Hue Jackson and everyone mocked them. Now they are everyone's favorite team in the AFC and predicted to make the playoffs. The media are a bunch of clowns whose sole mission is to get clicks. 2

When a team hasn't won recently that doesn't mean that EVERYTHING is wrong with it. This just smacks of trying to promote that the Jets are dysfunctional using outright falsehoods. If somebody wants to say that they've sucked for years, haven't won anything, haven't yet proven they're going to win with a new HC and a promising but unproved QB....I'd nod in agreement. But this isn't that.

The Jets have been more successful ( 3 Conference Championship games, multiple playoff berths) and more competitive since 1997 than: Detroit Cincinnati Cleveland Miami Jacksonville Buffalo Houston Dallas Washington (total sh*tshow since Snyder bought the team) San Diego (knocked them out of the playoffs twice...) That's over 1/4 of the league. NO other team gets the same level of scorn and derision as the Jets. Not even close. Some teams sign absolute scum and dirtbags to play for them and pay them big money after being caught on camera striking women (looking at you, Ohio teams), or accused of domestic violence. Other teams have had guys MURDER PEOPLE. (Carruth, Hernandez. Yeah, that happened, remember ESPN?) Think the Johnsons are bad? Look at the owners of Cleveland or Buffalo. Ew. Kraft. Gross. Look at Jerry Richardson. How about Dan Snyder? Guy was a punchline for 15 years. But lets destroy the Jets, because a decade ago Mark Sanchez fell down!! Or more accurately, the Jets are the vaunted Patriots foil, and the "Worldwide Leader" is located in NE and largely sets the narratives for sports media. Imagine if the Steelers, Colts, or any other team had to deal with playing in the Pats division and getting OWNED by that convergence of fortune for the past 20 years? Imagine if the Jets got to play in a weak ass division for 20 years? FFS. Its tiresome. Time to start winning, and flipping all of these ****ers off while they do it. 3
