Popular Post Barry McCockinner
I'd love to hear how a negotiation for something like this goes down. It's the Jets so I fully expect it to end something like this. "Sorry Joe, we really like you as a GM candidate and we would love for you to run our football team, but we really don't want to spend too much on the guys who find us players. We're going with the other guy who only needs half as much to build a scouting department. " 5 3 2 2

Popular Post slats
The best thing about a Douglas hire would be the unusual feeling that the Jets actually had a plan here from the start and then successfully executed it. 28
jvill 51
Wish this was coming from someone other than La Canfora. Pretty much guaranteed to be Fitterer now. 1
GreenFish
CJ needs to open up his wallet. This could pay for itself if fans see CJ Pay for a dream team.

Peace Frog
I heard yesterday that "a" holdup may be over control of the roster, that either Philly has a stip in his contract that he can't leave unless he has complete control (i.e., a REAL GM job) or that HE wouldn't leave without full control. jgb
Shocked this is the first time I heard that a GM candidate feels the need is negotiating a scouting budget with an NFL team before accepting. Joe douglas might just be too smart for this team. 1
Popular Post HawkeyeJet
IF it turns out to be Douglas, this nugget here makes me a believer in him. HawkeyeJet
Also, someone smarter than me correct me if I'm wrong or off base. It would appear LaCanfora is getting info from the Douglas side, by making public what he's asking for. Rapsheet is getting his from the Jets, relaying essentially the same info without saying the specific ask while pumping up another candidate yesterday. I guess my point is it appears both sides feel relatively confident it is going to get done, at least in my amateur tea leaf reading 2

CTJetsFan
Wait for it......Warfish should be hear any second saying he doesn't want to hear reporters saying (reporting) anything. Just wants someone's signature on a contract. And he DEFINITELY won't want our new GM holding any press conferences. Needs to go right to the office, lock his door and go to work. ? 1 1 1
