mrcoops
Hope it goes well. Big fan of Bilal Powell, and would love to have him back as quality depth off the bench. 2
peekskill68
I hope they sign him on a low cost deal and let him compete for a spot in training camp...
The Crimson King
If he is fully recovered why not bring him back? Just wish Lucas would stop that annoying way of saying his name though 3
freestater
As long as his neck checks out, hell yeah.
Creepy Lurker
I don’t mind this only because McGuire and Cannon are not solutions at RB. Maybe McGuire as 3rd/4th string if we go 4 deep. Thanks Mac!
jetscrazey
He's a good #2. Not reliable as a #1 because of his injury history, but backing up Bell could limit his reps enough to have him play all 16 games
kdels62
We have two young guys in Cannon and McGuire so I don’t love the move but honestly who cares. Bell, Montgomery, Powell, Cannon is a deep and versatile group of players and special teamers. Gotta assume McGuire is the odd man out since Cannon is an excellent gunner.

Greenbloodblitz
I've loved me some Bilal Powell through the years but that neck injury scares me. Not at the running back position
JustInFudge
Bell > Montgomery > Powell - would probably round off the best RB group the Jets have ever had in my lifetime.
jmat321
Might as well bring in Johnny Hector and Adrian Murrell in for workouts too

I actually think McGuire is a decent back and is a pretty effective pass catcher. Bell, Ty, McGuire and Powell? Sign me up and maybe Dortch or one of the other fast little guys becomes the KR/PR. For a guy who’s undersized he has more power on inside runs than McGuire and he beat a few guys downfield. Ghost
I wouldn’t mind as long as he’s healthy. Cannon should not be on this team. That guy is the David Clowney of running backs.

varjet
Football teams are supposed to draft RBs so they don’t have to pay old ones $1mm+ per year. This is why Mac does not have a job-the Jets have to recycle veteran guys like Powell who have injury/durability issues rather than use lower priced younger draft picks. I like Powell, but this is sad.
Popular Post T0mShane
That’s really cool of Gase to do. Powell was a solid player who gave his all for this team. This is a classy, underrated gesture that will play well with the veterans in the room. 13 3

But either way it helps Powell out because it gets his name out there.

Lith
I also wonder if working out Powell says something of how they view Montgomery. If htey see him as more of a receiver than a runner, it would create a need for a proven guy who can run the ball as insurance if Mcguire can't prove that he can be a solid #2 in camp. Warfish
Is he the best available RB and is RB a need position for camp? If yes and yes, ok, sign him. If no to either, sorry, no nostalgia signings. Just business. EDIT: Tom's take IS an interesting one tho, admittedly.
