Sam just doesn’t have the production like a Trubisky does. I expect him to be top 10 next year.

Darnold will be so much better this year. There just isn’t a scenario in my head where Sam takes a step back. He’s way too ahead of the curve, mentally. He’s getting better, stronger, watching film, he’s comfortable, he’s ultra talented. Next year is going to be a good year. I know it.

I think “so much better” is an understatement. He is going to have maybe the best RB in the league in the same backfield, who can also run go routes or turn 3rd and 7’s into firsts also catching passes, like a machine. More chemistry with Anderson. Chris Herndon is a beast (just saw footage of a 1 handed grab in practice, can’t remember the Jets having a TE, and nothing like this), he can get deep too. Crowder is going to be deadly. Gase calling the shots and not some moron playing every game “not to lose”. This Offense is going to be sick, in time, but starting this year, If they get adequate play from a shaky Oline the Jets are going to roll quite a few teams this year.

I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t excited or feeling much better about the future after firing Bowles and Mac. However, change doesn’t equal instant success or wins. It’s time for players/coaches/GM to talk with their production and success. I will gladly give well deserved praise if that happens.
Kleckineau
Dont understand the Trubisky disrespect. Guy improved tremendously his 2nd year and seems level headed and very committed to the work that it takes. He will be a top QB for many years if he keeps it up.

I think he’s way more of a homerun hitter than Edelman though. He’s got the speed and quickness to make a man miss on a slant and go for 30+.

There isn’t a GM in the NFL, including Chicago’s, who would take Trubisky over Sam. Point is, if those are the kind of guys ahead of him on this list, it will be a pretty quick climb. I think Mitch is an athletic AF Mark Sanchez Built up by an incredible defense and supporting cast on offense. I don’t think he reads the field especially well but he’s basically a running back when he takes off. I don’t see him elevating his team deep in the playoffs - JMO, time will tell

He's better than I initially gave him credit for. Maybe I'm wrong on Murray too.

QBase likes Murray, FWIW. Among players who had less than 3 years of college starting experience, he had the 3rd highest grade since 1997 behind Alex Smith and Cam Newton. They did give him a pretty high bust projection (47 %), however. And his chances of being an upper tier OR elite starter are only 25 % according to the model. And starting less than 3 years is generally correlated with some really bad QB busts. Other guys who graded out well but had less than 3 years of starting experience include JaMarcus Russell, Vince Young, Tim Couch and Johnny Manziel.
