Starting CB David Amerson cut, do we put in a waiver claim?.

Recommended Posts

"Amerson has been out of the league all season after being released by the Chiefs ahead of Week 1. He was released by the Raiders last offseason and hasn't been an effective cover man for a couple years. The 2013 second-rounder turns 27 next month and has good size."

Guy was out of the league until mid November last year.  Cards don't want him as a back up this year.

Guess he's worth a claim, but I wouldn't put much stock in him

This.

Put it this way, I heard on AZ Sports Talk today that a team which will have Patrick Peterson suspended for the first 6 weeks of the season just cut a CB.  You don't do that if the guy has any value.

Last year at this time the Jets has 15+ WRs. What’s it really mean?

It means that Amerson is unlikely to be near the top of that list and you can only evaluate so many people at a position. So every snap Amerson would take is a snap you're not evaluating another player who's more likely to make the roster.
