The Baker Mayfield and His Mouth Thread

Recommended Posts

The only drama in cleveland will come from the microscope they have been placed under by fans/media.  What baker mayfield said has no baring on anything.  It was about the 3rd string rb who is irrelevent once kareem hunt returns.

It would be like if sam darnold made a comment about elijah mcguire.  Who cares.

Again, its not about who but the fact that other players have already started to split off telling him he was wrong to do it in the media... The rift is starting... If Duke was traded and nobody stepped up in defense of Duke then yes I agree its a non-issue... but this is already showing that certain people in the locker room don't like Mayfield running his mouth about another players situation... He should just stay out of it.

This is bakers team.  There is no and will be no rift.  Anyone on the other side of a rift with baker will be shown the doir.

I actually think its a positive players went to mayfield to talk about this.  That is an awesome culture to have open dialogue about things.

This has nothing to do with Darnold v Baker--I'll take Darnold any day every day but you can't compare who and what Geno is/did (he was a punk and tried to scam a teammate out of pocket change after embarrassing him at his hometown charity football camp for under privileged children then mocked the dude about it in front of the locker room) to who Baker is.

Baker is taking a stand about the team.

Geno took a stand over $600.

This whole thread is a charade for jealous jets fans to take shots at baker.

We got the 2nd best qb in last years draft. And thats ok.  Lets move forward.

You hypocrites masturbate to a non-stop self-promoting strong safety with one career garbage-time interception but yes certainly a sassy 22 y/o QB who played like Drew Brees would certainly be beyond the pale.

Hahahahahaha.  The jet fan base is totally clueless.  Execpt for me and a few others on this board.  And its getting worse.

The only thing he has in common with Brees is lack oh height.

Correct.  Brees was terrible early in his career.  He couldnt hold bakers jock after year 1.

Gonna be very curious to see if he can continue the same level of play now that the spotlight will be directly on him - and he puts it on himself a lot

He won the heisman.  The spotlight has been directly on him for years.

Now, lets get back to ripping Mayfield cause hes better then Darnold.

If he’s voted into the Hall of Fame, he deserves it.

They don’t just give out yellow jackets.

One may not like it, one may have an irrational hate for it, but if he goes in, if his bust is on display for all time, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

And he is going in.

Thr hall of fame can never be wrong.  Got it.  Its a perfect institution.

Maybe it should run the country.

Has Eli manning ever been one of the top 5 qbs in a given season?  If so, what season was he one of the 5 best qbs in the league?

The hall is for the greatest players of all time not busy for players who won championships.

This is not true anymore.  The HOF is a business.  They more guys they let in, the more revenue for them.

Look at guys who just got in for baseball.  Mike Mussina????

Its happening in all sports.  HOF is not just gor the all time greats.  Its for good, great and elite players.

We are still acting like its for elite players only but those days are long gone.

Moon made 3 all pro teams (3 more than Eli)

Was offensive player of the year once (1 more than Eli)

Led in completions 3 times (3 more than Eli)

Led in yards 2 times (2 more than Eli)

Led in TDs once (1 more than Eli)

Won playoff games in 3 postseasons (Eli 2)

Lost playoff games leading O to 23, 24, 31- in 2 conf title games and 2 SBs the most points Eli led an O to in regulation was 20.

I can say this.  As a fan, I was terrified of warren moon carving us up.  I never, ever felt that way about facing Eli.  That speaks volumes to me.

Being in the hall of fame doesnt mean much anymore.  Its not only for elite/generational players.  Its for guys like Eli Manning who were good players but never top 5 at their position in any given year.

The question isnt does Eli belong in the hall of fame.

The better questionis what happened to the hall of fame?

You should ask the Pro Footbsll Hall of Fame. Not JN.

Until they conform to what YOU and that other jerkoff believe is HOF-worthy, whomever the selection Committee and HOF members vote into the Pro Football Hall of Fame are....Hall of Famers.

Eli Manning will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and his bust will be there for all eternity and not the 15 minutes the freak railing against him thinks that his f*cked up opinion matters.

You are abosutely right.  The thing is, the hall of fame doesnt mean much.  It means you had had a very good career.

If they make the Hall of Elite, and only put truely elite players in, then it is a recognition of true greatness at your craft.

People that understand whats going on are not impressed by half the guys that get in the hall of fame.

But no doubt Eli will get in cause its really the Hall of Goodness and in his prime, he was a good player.

Its interesting.  If you dig in a little further look at the definition of fame

fame: the state of being known or talked about by many people, especially on account of notable achievements.

Eli was talked about by many.  He won 2 super bowls which is notable.

We have chosen to believe the hall of fame = greatness.  But it doesnt.  So Eli does belong.

They need to open an Hall of Elite.  And Eli would have not shot of getting in there.

I love how people look up Webster’s to command definitions.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame sh*ts on Webster.

You get voted in, guess what, you are a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

You may disagree or hate it.

Go petition your Congress Woman because she won’t have any ability to change the vote either.

Eli Manning. Pro Football Hall of Fame.

You can continue to gnash your teeth.

Get used to disappointment.

We just went through this.  He is a hall of famer.  But that doesnt mean hes an elite player.

Pro Football Hall of Fame DOES NOT mean you were the best of the best.

ANd if somehow he did get in we could call for a Hall of The Elite Elite.

Or the Hall Of The Best Of The Elite

But he wouldnt get in so its a moot point.

Has anyone said he’s an elite player? The greatest of his generation?

That’s not the standard for the HOF.

He was competing with Peyton, Brady, Rogers, whomever.

He won 2 SB MVPs and beat the unbeatable Pats twice.

Top 10 QB in almost every QB category.

He’s not the greatest of his generation.

He’s a Hall of Famer.

Don’t be like that other sociopath.

Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer.

I agree.  People need to understand what the hall means.  If your a good player and you win a few super bowls like eli did, your in.

When you understand that you dont have to be great to get in the hall of fame, it is easy to see why eli will get in.

The misconception is that the hall of fame is only for great and elite players and that is not the case.

Mayfield was the perfect pick for Clev.  They needed an alpha who is going to refuse to lose.  You wont here a peep out of odell while hes a brown.  Cause unlike eli manning, baker mayfield will tell him exactly where he can shove it if he opens his trap.

Baker is the better qb.  But Sam has the body type to hold up for 15 years.

When its done playing out 15 years down the road, i think jet fans will be happy.

Mayfield is the better qb right now but Id take Sam in the long run.  Bakers fast lifestyle and slight build wil wear on him.

Sams a big dude and I think will hold up well over the next 15 years.

it has nothing to do with using “your” correct or not you moron.

It’s ok to call someone stupid. To insult, to disparage, to abuse those you disagree without consequence.

Then cry to the mods.

It’s embarrassing.

Cheese Frog, just dont go calling people illiterate when you obviously dont know what the word means.  Head up buddy.  You can come back from this.  Even pennington came in second in the mvp voting after his 3rd rotator cuff surgery.
