JetNation Group Outing - 9/8 Buffalo Bills

Recommended Posts

EDIT:  Here is the link to buy the tickets:  https://www.jetnation.com/shop/

The schedule comes out in a few days, it's almost time to pick the game for another group outing.

We had a great time last year even though the game we picked it was cold and a brutal windstorm. Oh and the Jets lost.

Ideally I'd like to do the second home game usually at the end of September. But it's going to depend on the schedule.

Anyone interested?

Giants?

That one would be fun but it might be tough ticket $ wise.

Will there be donuts?
Yes. And you could drive in the RV with us to the game so they will be donuts before the actual donuts.

I would love to come, but I would have to stay at someones house.  A hotel in NY with the Canadian exchange would cost more than a mortgage payment.
There are a ton of reasonable hotels in New Jersey within half an hour from the stadium.

Well, the home part is new.  Otherwise, Max has predicted the playoffs every single year I've been on this site.
This is simply not true.

Jets making the playoffs this year, you say? And having a home playoff game, you say?

They will make the playoffs this year. I was kidding on the home game, although I will be rooting for it.

Ok @Maxman Cowboys or Pats?? Tough call Max!

I am thinking the Cowboys game makes the most sense. I want to do something as early in the season as possible, but as much as I love night games most people seem to hate them. So that rules the Pats out for a big group outing.

I will check with the Jets to see what game(s) we can get tickets to. Once I have an answer I will let everyone know. All things being equal I think the Cowboys game makes the most sense.

Hopefully you can get tix for the Cowboys.  Problem with either the Pats of Browns is a Monday Night game means taking two days off from work for those of us who would be travelling in for the game.  And the Sunday 4:25 starts are great for tailgating.  Still means missing a day of work, but, at least speaking for myself, it would be much easier for me to miss just the Monday than taking two days.

Totally agree with everything you wrote!

How many people are you outing?  I mean...I think T0m Shane already outed himself, but are you really going to out all the others?

That's really good lol.

Alright I talked to the Jets. It is looking good for the Cowboys game but I am waiting all the final details of pricing etc.

Hope to have everything up soon, maybe by next week.

Thanks!

So I spoke with the Jets and unfortunately it is looking extremely unlikely that we will be able to get group tickets for the Cowboys game.

So I think our choices are:

1. Do the group outing for the Cowboys game, we throw a JetNation tailgate and everyone would have to get tickets on their own

or

2. Do it for another game, maybe the Bills for the opener? The Cowboys and Giants games definitely won't be options

Let me know what you think, thanks.

Freaking Jets front office would rather have Cowboy fans get tickets for top $ than give a group discount for loyal Jets fans?? Am I missing something here Max?
No that isn't the case. They have a priority order system based on how many tickets you bought last year. I also had a chance to put down a deposit to move up on the list but I didn't.

Where are you tailgating?
We are in F11 every week. Plenty of space, easy to park the RV over there.

I would probably opt for the Bills game.  No other real good options.  Two Monday night games, Raiders on Thanksgiving weekend.  All tough to travel in for.  If Cowboys and Giants are out.  Leaves either the Bills or waiting until December.

Besides Mets are home the same weekend as the Bills game; I can fly in, catch a game at Citi Field on Saturday night, then we can do the Bills game on Sunday.  I would be too busy to spend time with the in-laws.  Works out perfectly.

Interesting point on the Mets. I think the Bills game might be the best bet as well. Didn't want to do the opener, but they should beat the Bills so at least we will all be happy.  :)

You should park by us for one week, that would be really cool.

I'm looking forward to hearing the specifics of the outing. I'm planning on coming up for one home game with my 11 yr old son this year.  It may as well be the JN group game eh?

Buffalo had quite the offseason though. I hope we come out firing on all cylinders. It will be good to have Darnold as the undisputed starter to get all of the 1st team reps.

I'm already pissed off !!!   lol

Sounds like I won't have the pricing from the Jets until June. But that is definitely the game we will be doing, schedule wise it makes the most sense. I told the Jets we need 100 game tickets. Should be fun.

Ok so what I'll do is start planning the travel and all of that sorta thing and just wait till the tickets become available to take care of that end.

Any idea where the seats might be at all?   I'm hoping for last row upper level end zone. :)

Good question on the tickets. Last year we did lower level end zone, they were pretty good seats. This year I can do some upper and some lower if people wanted a lower priced option as well.

Doubt I'll be in for this but will certainly try.  My two trips to the east coast this Fall right now will be for Week 2 MNF and likely Raiders @ Jets the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The MNF trip will be interesting.  I won my Fantasy League with friends in AZ so I get to pick the "guys trip" destination this year.  I'm taking a bunch of knuckleheads to NYC for a weekend and then Jets-Browns on Monday Night.

Send me a message before the other games you go to. A lot of weeks we have room at our tailgate.

I very well could be interested. Me and my 13 year old son planned on the home opener. However there is a lumber salesmen that my company is using on the job I am running and they have a  corporate box. I want to see what options I have on a freebie first.

Awesome, you can tailgate with us either way even if you don't sit with us.

I was there last year.  Had a great time.  Definitely interested again.

Did you decide on the game?

Thanks. This year will be better, the wind can't be as bad as it was last year. Did I just dare the Meadowlands wind?  :)  Bringing a truck this year so we will be able to bring a large grill which will make cooking for everyone much easier. Wind or no wind. It should be a lot of fun, it is going to be the opener against the Bills. It looks like I will have all the ticket information the middle of this month, so hopefully another two weeks or so.

Great ! How close is the JN tailgate to the train station? I'm debating taking the train but I'm bringing my old man and dont want to make him walk too far if I can help it.

It isn't that far:

https://www.jetnation.com/new-york-jets-info/metlife-stadium-info/

If you look at that map, the purple is the train station, pretty close to Lot C. We tailgate in F11. It is a bit of a walk but not terrible.

Not sure where the seats are yet, but last year we sat really close to the train. If we can get that again we would at least save on the walking after the game.
