Hell yeah I raced dirt track for 4 years till I was almost killed on the track. Lol

Would love to do rally racing someday like the man Colin McRae.

We have a good rally circuit going up in northern Maine.  Winter would be a blast!

Are you anywhere near Bethel? My buddy has a house in Woodstock overlooking Lake Christopher. He use ride dirt bikes along the power lines there.

Im 60 miles east of Bethel.

I bought 2 snowmobiles over that way 6 years ago, and go ice fishing in the western mountains as often as I can. Beatiful over that way!

Any one of the following:

  • Lewis Hamilton
  • Cyril Rioli
  • Lance Franklin

For those that are unfamiliar with the exploits of a certain Cyril Rioli, watch the following video:

For those unfamiliar with the exploits of Lance Franklin, I refer you to the following:

Was just about to mention Aussie Rules. Cyril was an absolute genius. I’ve never seen anyone with his balance, agility, and ability to make something out of nothing. Him and Hodgey were my faves.

I played across Half Back and Center for a few teams in the US and made the US squad in 09/10. I was always a natural Wingman, which is where I’d love to play if I did it professionally. Just run all fricken day. I was never the biggest, or the fastest, but I was always the smartest and had solid skills.

We trucked 2 snowmobiles to Errol & rode up to Pittsburg NH & back. Hell of a ride, very tiring. Slept like a baby that night, arms were sore as hell the next day.

Pretty cool to be Usain Bolt, fastest man on earth. Now if you could be anyone, how about people bragging about what they do in a bar, I'm a singer, I'm an actor, I'm a pro ball player & you say, "Hi, I'm Neil Armstrong 1st man on the moon"....ok Neil, you win.

Yeah you gotta get in riding shape if going long distance. Heh

It uses muscles that aren't accustomed to being worked out.

I tried to play Rugby freshmen year in college 1985, right after my knee was, well they called it fixed surgery was different back then, prehistoric, tearing my Acl, and Mcl off the bone playing American football my senior year of HS. I just couldn't do it, tore my Acl again. Loved playing the game of rugby almost more than ice hockey. Ruggers were great though they still let me into their parties, biggest and best keg parties on campus, best ass on campus attended too. Good f-in times.

If I lost a bunch of weight, I'd have the build and hand/eye coordination to be a decent slot receiver.  Someone once called me a "slow Ed McCaffrey" during a pickup two-hand touch football game.  It was one of the best compliments I've ever received.

I was once compared to Jeff Hornacek on the basketball courts and I was flattered.

I was called Charlie Ward a lot growing up because I could throw a football well and played point guard as a "3 & D" specialist.

I didn't really understand it because Ward wasn't much of a three point shooter, but I loved the nickname enough to not care.

So that's who you would want to be?

Rugby is a great game, though I still struggle to grasp the rules.

Just an fyi, the sport in the videos you quoted isn’t Rugby. It’s Australian Rules Football. Not trying to be a jerk if you already know the know the difference, but it’s a mistake I see many Americans make. Similar shaped ball, but totally different games. Ben Graham, ex-Jets Punter, was a gun Aussie Rules player. There’s a video out there of him taking a kick-out from full back where he gets a spiral on it and it travels just past the middle of the ground which on that field is something like 85 meters (about 92 yards). It’s insane.

And damn, sorry to hear about those injuries. I’ve had a few buddies go down with those and they can be life changing. Hope you recovered from them.

Thanks, yes, I don't think we have ARF in the US? But rugby is closer to that than synchronized  swimming. :D

That was weird that ward won the Heisman, but ended being drafted in the NBA. He must have been some athlete to do that.

ARF is growing in the US- there are teams all over the country and a representative team for international play- just not at a pro level so the awareness of it is basically nil. I’ve seen some brutal synchronized swimming matches, just teeth flying everywhere! ?
