Important facts

(All according to the official police report)

  • Herndon failed field sobriety tests and at the police station blew a 0.14 percent BAC on a breathalyzer. In New Jersey, a person is guilty of drunk driving if they operate a vehicle with the Blood Alcohol Concentration level of 0.08 percent or greater
  • Upon striking the second vehicle, Herndon's car flipped and slid about 700 feet. One of his wheels was stuck in the side of the second vehicle.
  • A witness claimed he saw Herndon driving at greater than 100 miles per hour. Herndon told the police officer he was driving 58 miles per hour.

I don't think so.

That has to get knocked down.

Goddamit.

Agreed. Although knowing the NFL they probably would let it stand.  Tom Brady could literally **** The commissioner’s wife during half time and he would get a slap on the wrist lol

Does the Leggett release look like a bad idea in hindsight or was he a goner no matter what?

Get ready for a lot of 11 Personnel groupings to start the year I guess.  I don't mind that with Crowder and Bell here now.

Quincy Enunwa could be used also at TE if needed possibly.

I’m not sure why they released him so quickly. There were 5 waiver claims placed on him, he appears to have some value.

I liked him at Clemson but he really didn’t do much here. He had a reputation for being lazy but I had thought he did a 180 on that.

Or he could do something relatively minor, like ugh, I don't know, like footballs a hair softer than most and get the same 4 game suspension.  Without actually banging anyone's wife.  ?

Who and why?

Because we only have like 6 TEs on the roster.  Just have got to have more.  The same way this suspension turned a blocking TE into something he's never been in his college career as a rookie.  Or his useless highlight video

Call me crazy but I think Wesco could turn out to be one of the best overall TEs in the NFL, AND a dynamic offensive player.

I like him too but let's not go crazy.  He's a bit lumbering and he seems to go down easier than I would like, unless they tackle him high.  I hope he's great.  Don't get me wrong.  And he's already the best blocking TE on the squad.

If there is one thing that a 4.89 40 and 28 for 373 and 2 TD in 3 years of college scream it is best overall TE in the NFL, AND dynamic offensive player.

I hope it stays at 4 games but he learns from his mistake and uses this to grow. Hopefully wesco makes the most of the extra time he gets to play too.

Do you honestly think he’s going to learn more from a 4 v 2 game suspension?

As if he’s sitting there at 2 games saying “hahahaaaa jobbed the system, I can drink and drive all I want” but at 4 games “shucks, I’ll never do that again”.

He’s either going to learn from 2 or 4 or 6 or 8 games or he’s not.

The number doesn’t matter.

Honesty, what I think will matter is 1. The first game. Not being there opening weekend with his teammates.

THAT’S what’s going to make it real.

I"m probably going to get slammed by some for this. Our temporary GM should have never released Leggett. Too early too send a message, which what Gase was probably trying to do.

No slamming. Should have held onto him. They knew a suspension was coming.

Of course we don’t know what Gase knows. So we have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

TIGHT END

He played some there in 2015.  In fact, I think he was the main "tight end" that year.  He isn't going to be a true two-way TE, but as a move TE that can block a little I think he is fine for 4 games.

I won't slam you for a differing opinion, but I don't like Leggett.  He was lazy, never seemed like a YAC guy and dumping him doesn't move the needle one way or the other.  I'm pretty sure they like the Da Vinci Code guy way better.  IMO they roll with Wesco and Brown and then Herndon takes over when he is back.  Everybody here will hate it, but this probably saves Tomlinson's job for another few weeks.

Repeat after me: Enunwa is not a tight end

He cannot block in-line.  He’s an egg if he does try to block in line it will hasten whatever is his next injury

Tomlinson over Leggett, Dominator. No way. At least Leggett at 24, had some upside. Potentially.
