NY Rangers reboot 2019-20

We also have 3 games in hand on Columbus who's just riddled with injuries.

Rangers gotta keep winning, maybe with Shesterkin back we can make a run like St. Louis did last year with Binnington.

For at least a few weeks though Georgiev and Hank are going to have to step up big time. Lundqvist is 38 he may as well just leave it all out on the ice for this playoff push.

Georgiev to start against Montreal.

No surprised. They’ve been going with the hot hand all season.

Definitely. They did show some life in the 3rd at least.
Took my son to his first ranger game today. Actually his first professional sports  game and being a met jet ranger fan I feel it’s only fitting for him to learn the emotion of disappointment these teams will undoubtedly supply for the rest of his life.

Hey your son is going to group watching a Rangers dynasty lead by Igor Kakko Panarin and others like Kravtsov that I don’t feel like naming.

Someone was saying at the garden yesterday. That there is no fighting on kids day (Sunday was kids day), like an unwritten rule and supposedly part of the reason for 10 min misconduct on Lemieux. Anyone ever here anything like this? Seems far fetched to me

I have never heard anything like that. Guy was probably being sarcastic or drunk.

I was thinking today that I might get to the Garden for the final regular season game. I think it’ll Lundqvists last because he doesn’t want to play for anyone else and he’s not going to play as little as he did this year again. The only way I think he stays is if they trade Georgie at the draft or something.

Lias Anderson has 4 goals and 8 points in 10 games. It took him awhile to get going but he now has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 contests.

The Rangers should try to bring him back!

No way man. Guy burned his bridges here, he’s a baby and can’t play in NY.

Whatever happened happened. The Rangers burned a top pick on him, they should try make it work. If not they can move him, but the return will be better if he's back with the team, than it will if they move him from Sweden.

Not necessarily. If he comes back he’ll probably start playing like crap again and his value will plummet.

They have nothing to lose, his value is nada, maybe he learned from this like Kratzov did.

Making him feel wanted may go a long way, they had high hopes for him.

If he comes back and they make it work then great but I’m personally done with the guy.

Giorgiev has been sharp tonight

Spoke a little too soon. Let’s up a softie for the winner. Really tough loss.

Just heard on The Michael Kay Show that official timetable for Kreider is 4-6 weeks. That’s the season unless we can sneak into the playoffs.

Larry brooks has an article today making an argument that the Mika-Brassard trade is turning out better than the Gomez-McDonaugh trade. Crazy. Actually a credit to the FO to even have two of these such lopsided trades in 8-10 year span.

For some weird reason I remember exactly where I was when I heard the trade on WFAN in my car and thinking that I liked it. I never could’ve imagined he’d be this good though.

We are already the youngest team in the league.  With all the additions, the ones already in the system promising to make that even more true next year, how much room do we have for yet more pick ups from, the college ranks?

In one sense I would be looking to go the other way a bit and add a seasoned veteran or two.

I see what you’re saying but we’ve got guys like Kreider, Panarin, Strome, Staal etc that have been in the league for some time now.

Strome buries one of those chances and we win. Really frustrated right now and I’m going to get like 5 hours of sleep. Damn you Rangers.

I would have preferred to be in that final wild-card spot before the suspension. Afraid when they come back they’ll go right into the playoffs.

Well I guess now all we can do is wait and pray.

This was such a fun story. One I didn't want to end when it did.

Brooklyn, Boozer, JustEnd, Anthony, Los and anyone else I have overlooked.  It was a pleasure riding along with all of you.

Don’t give up now, the season isn’t over. The NYR can still make some magic happen. And you know what, I’m a Yankees fan but I’m going to use the Mets phrase...YA GOTTA BELIEVE! Let’s keep this train rolling while we still can.

Well if they come back and finish, the Rangers should have Krieder back, the Icelanders will have had time to take a break from losing, and Carolina and Columbus will get some guys back too.

Will be very interesting to see what happens if the Rangers can get in. Are they capable of going on a tare with the young Igor, Panarin, Zibanejad & Company?

Yea there’s going to be a ton of questions for all teams once the season starts up again but especially for the metro WC playoff race. Things are going to get very interesting.

Well, the whole thread was just two posters.  Me & RobR.  Great start to the season, but boy the wheels came off in a hurry.

You guys are really building something   Pains me to say it, but Rangers rebuild certainly appears to be on track.  As for the Isles, we are a mess; heading towards mediocrity and a bad cap situation.  Just hope at some point they all get a chance to get back on the ice again this season.  Not expecting it though.

I definitely think we’re going to see them play again, it’s just when and if it’s in front fans or not. The islanders should take this time off to reset and get ready for a playoff push. Good luck but not too much luck.

Thanks for that. Whether you agree or disagree with the choices, it’s so nice to have some Rangers news! I am NOT ready for this season to come to an end.

Neither am I. This has been such a roller coaster of a season but it’s been a really fun one. Everybody said before the year started that at the least the Rangers would be an exciting team to watch and they’ve certainly lived up to that expectation.

Yes, also seeing Panarin sign the big contract and then have an MVP caliber year is refreshing. Not many players live up to the billing, but he certainly has. Mika is a full fledged 1st line threat at the center position, the Rangers have one of the best one, two punches in the game. Not to mention the rookies who stepped up like Fox, Lindgren and Shesterkin. The future is bright!

Absolutely, a lot to be excited about in RangersTown right now.
