Popular Post MDL_JET
I love how close Douglas and Gase seem. Seeing Gase pumping him up before he goes to his press conference. The back and forth they had. Seems like a good relationship. For now.

GREENBEAN
[/url] Gase breaking down Darnold films had my complete and utter attention. I’m psyched. What a great way to open it up. Just diving right into to Gase dissecting the potential of Sam Darnold. I was equally enthralled. flgreen
Jets got this right. Good show I like how they just blew by how Macc departed. It was like he was just beamed up.

Legend Killa7
Soooo...last year on OJD we see our HC giving QBs a pop quiz. This year? We get our HC breaking down film of our QB? Yeah I’m excited! Gase looked better in this one episode than Bowles did in four years.

There will continue to be some people vehemently against the Gase hiring. Their minds won't be changed even when he starts winning. But for anyone who is 50/50 or had some doubts I think a few episodes of this show will quickly turn them into Gase fans.

I wanted nothing to do with Gase. His players, his FO, his owner, all hated him. Until you started peeling back the onion and kept peeling and now I’m 1000% certain he is the guy that is going to make Sam the guy that takes us to the Super Bowl. Then Douglas and the rest of the FO and coaching hires. I cannot believe how well this is all playing out. 2 1

The most amount of time Bowles is on screen, it's him parking his car, walking in to the facility with a book bag and lunch box, and then fist bumping certain players as they walk into the film room in episode 1. Episode 2, he's only on screen to say "Moving up from 6 to 3 in the draft helps them have a better chance at getting a QB" Stark difference. They spent more time on Williams feeding his dogs and Williamson packing his suitcases than Bowles. Definitely excited to see Gase be more involved on the film study aspect. And I am not saying this makes him the greatest HC ever, but it certainly LOOKS better and makes me FEEL better as a Jets fan. 1

greenwichjetfan
Christopher Johnson getting a lot of love for 1 Jets Drive, and he deserves it. To be clear though, this wasn't his brainchild. It's being done around the league, and there's really great stuff out there from other franchises as well. Still, CJ gets full credit for taking what works and bringing it here. Opinions vary about how important a sports franchise owner actually is when speaking about the product on the field. As a Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Jets fan - I know that ownership matters. George Steinbrenner stood in stark contrast to Dolan and Woody. Dolan finally allowed Sather to build from the ground up, and the Rangers got better. Woody goes to the UK, and in two offseasons, the Jets have become a completely different team. Christopher has been the progressive owner that this franchise needed to get away from the stench of Woody. From his stance on players kneeling, implementing modern uniforms, providing fan transparency with 1 Jets Drive, starting an in-house analytics department, getting a young offensive minded head coach, pairing him with a young forward-thinking GM who believes in the value of the trenches, and completely rebuilding the player personnel teams (scouts), he's essentially dragging the Jets into the modern NFL one move at a time. None if it was new or innovative, but he was able to step back, look at what was happening around him, and take the good and implement it. He and Sam Darnold have been the two biggest and best changes to the Jets since Woody left. Of course, it all still rests on the product on the field. The players and coaches that have been brought in need to deliver, and Sam will have to be the biggest reason that any of this works. Also, there is a fine line between being a good owner and a meddlesome one, and hopefully Christopher toes it well. Still, so far, it's looking like Christopher has put the pieces in place to allow this team to attain success.
BroadwayBen
Football knowledge aside, I would way rather fight for gase and douglas than todd bowles and Mccagnan. You can just see football ooze from their personalities. Bowles and Mccagnan just looked like guys that stumbled into football and its just been something to do ever since.

Gase is a film geek, Douglas is all in... much easier to route for guys that will go for it... then to not lose like Bowles

Of course, we'll see how we handle things if we have a few back to back losses or something goes wrong, but while tempering expectations, it is hard to not be optimistic about the future, and growth I expect to finally see from this team. NYDreamer
This was a good episode letting fans get an inside look into the heads of the team. Got me pumped up definitely more than his press conference. But that makes sense, could be uncomfortable but has now had the chance to do so.
