[Editor’s note: The NFL released the following statement on Friday, July 19.]

Over the past four months, we have conducted a comprehensive investigation of allegations regarding Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Throughout this investigation, the NFL’s primary concern has been the well-being of the child. Our understanding is that the child is safe and that the child’s ongoing care is being directed and monitored by the Johnson County District Court and the Johnson County Department for Children and Families.

In conducting our investigation, we have taken great care to ensure that we do not interfere with the county’s proceedings or compromise the privacy or welfare of the child in any way. The information developed in the court proceeding is confidential and has not been shared with us, and the court has sealed all law enforcement records. Local law enforcement authorities have publicly advised that the available evidence does not permit them to determine who caused the child’s injuries.

Similarly, based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy. Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City’s training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention.

If further information becomes available through law enforcement, the pending court proceeding, or other sources, we will promptly consider it and take all appropriate steps at that

The statement says nothing about the recording of him threatening his wife. That alone deserved some type of punishment, especially given his  history.

That statement is really saying "he will not be disciplined.... for now".  If the courts hit Hill with anything at all, NFL will be dropping the hammer instantaneously.

It doesn’t say he’s not getting discipline ever. Slightly misleading thread.

Exactly.  This statement in particular: "Similarly, based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy" screams that the NFL is only not doing anything right now, because they can't.  Best bet is NFL doesn't want to get sued by Hill if they know they can't even meet the very low standards needed for their internal policies.

There's nothing misleading about the thread. They completed their investigation and concluded that he will not be disciplined. News organizations are using virtually the same headline I did.

The NFL started sweeping this under the rug the instant it came to light. Anyone who thinks the NFL is truly concerned with domestic violence and preventing it when it games to the elite players is seriously deluded.

Patrick Mahomes is the next face of the league.  He needs Tyreek Hill to be dominant. All other considerations are moot.

Wait I thought that was Jamal Adams?

I just read more about it.  The wife/mom refused to cooperate with NFL investigators so she’s obviously more worried about her meal ticket then she has the safety of her own children.

there's always two sides to these stories.  it's quite possible that his wife/gf is the one who did the misdeed.  the fact the cops are backing away points that direction.  obviously if he's just another thug like hunt he should get the book thrown at him.

Don't worry T Hill justice is coming for you  , and it will be from  #55 V Burfict in week two.     Let's see just how tough you're woman, and child beater.

Maybe I'm getting both situations wrong, but how is this any different than what happened to Ezekiel Elliot? Police had cleared him, but the NFL still suspended him. By that, shouldn't Hill also be suspended?

No evidence he violated the personal conduct policy, still guilty in the court of public opinion. Not saying something won't come out, but I don't think this case is as clear cut as many believe.

yup....especially when Tyreek is heard on audio saying "you better be terrified of me too bitch!"  Nothing says gold-digger like a petrified abuse victim.

The NHL has it so right on this all sports should follow their policies on the “Devils Lettuce” 😂🤣 and they had right way before it was legal to the North.

He'll still end up getting suspended about 2 games, and no one will be happy.  Because that's how the NFL does things.  A Ray Rice-esque situation all over again for the league that never learns from its many mistakes.

So Zeke got six games in 2017 for what exactly?

And a broken three year old’s arm and “you better be terrified of me bitch” gets zero.

Good to know.

Unless a video, or another recording comes out he will never be suspended for this situation, yes if he does another stupid thing then suspension will be quick, but never from this situation.

This.

Again, let the courts do their job.  Then the NFL can do theirs.  Trying to do that backwards is bad on multiple levels.

Unless the courts drop the ball completely, this guys time will come.

Thank goodness he only broke his kids arm and threatened his wife.

Imagine if he drank or smoked weed? Oh the horrific possibility.

Nothing quite like the NFL's consistency.

The child is safe.  The authorities have taken charge, and they are not releasing information.  The NFL clearly feels that they want ONE punishment only to come out of this incident, even if it's lifetime ban, rather than adding more and more punishments as the facts emerge.

The NFL's just waiting to get the whole picture before the punishment.
