Blake Cashman will make Williamson expendable and a good tradable asset, giving this team 1 good tradable asset.

Its not just ashman (nor is it an indictment of williamson as a player), but with Q slimming down to 295, Id have to imagine we are going to have more 4-3 looks making williamson expendable.

I know its "fantasy football" to an extent, but the Redskins just cut their MLB - Williamson, Beachem and a 3rd for Trent Williams sounds good to me.

Williamson 10  mill dead cap hit makes this unlikely.

Q is only 295 lbs? I guess that’s his way of saying I’m not a ****ing NT.

I'm flattered that every time you see a half naked man, you think of me, but I'm not interested.

A trade saves us $12 million in the next 2 years and leaves us with $4 million in dead cap.

If Cashman can start then trading Williamson is the best option for team improvement this year.

Hey all. New here.

I was there and Enunwa is a beast, has some drops here and there but just wish he would stay healthy. He’d be so dominant. Gase loves him and thinks he’s a physical freak. Hines Ward is constantly coaching these guys and was on them all the time to hustle.

Defense is held back a lot since there’s no pads. Adams a few times would’ve popped a few guys and stopped a play if there was tackling.

Also Darnold just looks so damn good. A lot of confidence, leading the whole team and of course just dropping dimes.

It’s also cool seeing guys talk to Brick after practice for tips and such. Pass rushers too.

Welcome!

Please  keep those snippets from camp coming!

You posted the shirtless pic from the low income assisted living senior facility unprovoked and unrequested old man.

You are into this stuff not me.

General Notes

- Practice ran 2 hours and 15 minutes

- Players in shorts & shells for the final day before the
pads come on

- Brian Winters and Brian Poole were back and participated
fully.  Quinnen Williams appeared but only observed practice
since it was his first day

- The players auditioning for the return spot were Jamison
Crowder, Elijah McGuire, Greg Dortch, JJ Jones and Tim White.
They are returning against a skeleton coverage unit so you
can't judge who is effective yet

- The defense had a much better day against the run but to me
the offense won the day

Coach Corner

- Very strange to see a Jet HC actually control and correct the
offensive side of the ball.  Adam Gase started to get very creative
with personnel groupings and formations.  Unfortunately the team
doesn't want that being leaked, but be on the look out when the
games start

- There's a definite increase in the 11 on 11 scrimmage periods

- Mid-practice conditioning seems to be a normal thing.  Today the
offense ran "gassers" and the defense did "up/downs" and "suicides".
After that they continued practice, a good indication to see who can
execute when tired

Player Notes

- Brian Poole had an excellent day.  He had a PBU against Jamison
Crowder and tight coverage even when he made a catch.  Also he showed
a talent for ripping the ball out.  He caused two today, once he
pulled the ball away from LeVeon Bell on a screen pass.  And then
he stripped Quincy Enunwa after he made a catch

- Ty Montgomery is going to have a bigger role in this offense than
many expected.  Today he was sharp in the passing game catching multiple
balls from Sam Darnold one was a 30+ yard TD.  He also was excellent in
protection as he picked up a blitzing Jamal Adams to allow Darnold to
throw another long TD

- Bronson Kaufusi had a pass knockdown and a TFL in his reps.  He's been
getting reps with the #1's, can he create a role for himself?

- Strong day for the ILB's CJ Mosley, Avery Williamson and Blake Cashman.
They were much stronger against the run than day one.  And Cashman showed
good range/speed as he was able to get from the hashes to the sideline
on screen passes

QB Notes

- Sam Darnold had an excellent day and was on fire during the 11 on 11
periods.  He spread the ball around to all his receivers and had great
anticipation.  A couple of times it looked like Darnold was throwing
directly to a defender but he was actually throwing to a spot where
the receiver was going to be for the completion.  There were so many
"sexy" plays but three stand out:

 1. A 40+ yard TD to Robby Anderson where Montgomery had the blitz pickup
    I mentioned earlier

 2. A 40+ yard "thread the needle" sideline throw to Quincy Enunwa who
went over Darryl Roberts for the catch

 3. On the very next play he completed another 40+ yarder to Enunwa who
made a one handed catch over Roberts

- Credit to Trevor Siemian and Davis Webb as they bounced back and were
more accurate.  The offense actually moved when they had their reps

Standouts

- Sam Darnold

- Quincy Enunwa

- Robby Anderson

- Brian Poole

- Run defense

- Ty Montgomery

Concerns / Decide For Yourself

- Not a ton of pressure by the defense.  But is that a credit to
the OLine (who has been very solid so far) or an indication that
they'll struggle again getting sacks

How would the formations not get leaked.  How many people were watching it.

The practice was closed to the public and the media isn't allowed to report on that stuff. Since there are only like 4 or 5 open practices they can easily hide stuff those days.

Man Bell is a baller. Damn this cat is good it's crazy to think he is on our team. He was like I'm up for 500 touches...just the way he talks, it's like he is refreshed and loving being green and white. Mix in his playmaking ability. This dude is so good for us. Damn you jets for sucking me back in this season. Seriously the last two years I started missing games. Never in my adult life did I miss a game them bowles came and I just stopped caring. I feel like this year is back to the chase, the quest for the Lombardi.

We might still be far from it but at least it seems like we want it again. Damn bowls and Macc sucked

Williamson & a 3rd to Redskins as part of a Trent Williams trade. Boom.

* Even if we have to eat some dollars this year.

Nitpicky question - Any difference between a PBU (pass breakup) and the more commonly used PD (pass defensed)?

This is very, very interesting to me.  Cashman is a total wildcard and some people have posited/hoped that he could become something like a Wayne Chrebet on the defense....a smallish, high motor guy who wasn't really on anyone's radar to be a decent NFL player.  I think the projection was that if he really achieved then his ceiling could be solid Special Teams player and an occasional sub at LB to give a starter a few plays off.  It's REALLY early yet but if Cashman can learn and get experience behind two of the best in Mosely and Williamson then who  knows, maybe he gives the Jets an option to let Williamson walk once his FA deal is up?

Question - Who was Cashman on the field with when he was out there?  Was it strictly 2nd and 3rd teamers or did he rotate in at all with the 1's yet?

A ton of mixing & matching so far
