Post Third Day Of Camp Observations

Recommended Posts

  • We keep hearing positive things about Blake Cashman which is very encouraging.  He seems to have speed and awareness.  Could be the sleeper of this years draft.
  • Haven't heard anything negative about Harrison which is also very encouraging.  The OL seems to have done very well today including run blocking which bodes well for Bell & Co.  (And Darnold!)
  • Still think Douglas needs to find an adequate backup for Harrison after cuts.
  • Douglas may have to go out of his comfort zone (for a first year GM) and make a trade for a CB.  Like it or not, Trumaine is the CB1 but Roberts seems to not be cutting it at CB2.
  • Jachai Polite - Who?
  • Is the team just being overly cautious with Marcus Maye?  Who takes his role if he's not available in week 1?
  • Cannon seems to be playing well as is Montgomery.  Haven't heard much (anything?) about McGuire or Powell.  I think Powell will have to outplay McGuire for that last spot due to age.
  • It seems over the top to test Bell two days in a row but as long as he keeps passing we'll live with it.
  • How long before Q is running with the first team?

Im very concerned about the TE position with Herndon being suspended the first 4 games of the season and then depth at the position when he returns.

This is Douglas's chance to shine as GM, why we hired him and paying him the big bucks. Hope he can pull a rabbit out of the hat somehow.

Literally nothing in what you wrote is an observation based on being present. Most of it is hyperbole based on things you’ve read, or sorry ‘heard’ over some span of time. The rest is just inane musings, as usual.

Jachai Polite - haven't heard a peep. Our 1st 3rd round pick. Nothing bad but nothing good. Somebody must have seen something from this kid? He apparently passed the conditioning test. Got a feeling Mac totally blew this pick and there was a lot of talent still on the board at that spot but hoping he just takes some time develop and isn't a total bust.

This is not a camp report.

“We keep hearing” “Haven’t heard anything” “Cannon seems to be” “Haven’t heard much”.

WTF.

Can you tell us EXACTLY what Polite did?  What did Montgomery do? What Maye did? When was Bell tested and how did he perform before and after?

Seriously, stop dicking around.

Take a deep breath and calm down. Its the 3rd day of camp. They’ve only had one practice in pads. Don’t you think it’s a little early to worry about him busting? Jeez, some of you guys are too much.

Polite is working with the 3rd string according to reports. Whether that means GW doesn’t think he’s ready yet or not really doesn’t matter much right now. He’s got plenty of time to show what he’s got. Hopefully he’s got something, but he’s an undersized, very young 3rd round pick. He might need time.
