He didn't play his rookie year. was on IR. Last year he really wasn't an option in the passing game, but blocked well. A 24 year old TE, with some upside. Im not saying he was a star in the making, but why cut him so early in camp. A bunch of teams put out a claim for him. He's young, with some upside. Not a big deal. I just thought it was a mistake.

So he didn't play rookie year, last year he wasn't involved in the passing game (which was supposed to be his strength), but he blocked "well". Doesn't sound like much overcompensating is needed to make up for his loss. Gase wanted to sign a TE during the FA period, which doesn't say much for Leggett, but coffee boy* dropped the ball. Gase probably could have held on to him longer, but the powers that be decided he isn't part of the picture so why hold onto him at all?

Gase got rid of the 3 players that were not giving effort.... Who cares who let him go... He sucks

He blocked well, didn't draw penalties like Tomlinson. He was 24, and last year was essentially his rookie year. please. He was cut during the beginning of OTA'S. Too early too jetison anyone

Agreed unless Gase was trying to set examples and get the remaining players attention. Parcels did this at every stop and to much bigger names.

It was gase's decision, and his alone. Look at what we're going through at Te end. Last year was leggett's 1st year on the field playing. At the end of the year, he started to become a little more involved in the passing game. It's possible that he would never improve. It's also possible, that at 24, we let go a guy who could develop into a quality all around option as a 2nd TE.

Yeah, maybe, but the offensive minded HC who likes to use multiple TEs didn't like him. In time we'll see if he catches on.

For sure. I'm glad we have Bell. He'll at least lesson the blow of not having Herndon for 4 games. Such a huge threat as a receiver.

Known slacker from college... Didn't put in effort, please.. You can't correct players that have no drive... See too many ridiculous examples to even put in effort listing...

And 2 years of playing is plenty of time to evaluate effort...

Garbage that Mac drafted move on
