He'd still be a confirmed Townie, though. At that point, he was the only player you could be sure was Town.

For sure, I think outside of protecting the cop the best use of the role was blocking a faction kill though. I don't understand the day 1 holster but 80 does like a high body count. Per the op if he targeted 1 member of the team he'd have blocked the kill. since 3/9 of the game was mafia, he knew his alignment, and if any successful doc protect would've stopped the kill he had a great chance of stopping a NK on n1. The way it played out had he targetted Jif, Dice, Me, Crusher or Nyn he'd have stopped a kill, which is 5/8 chance.

That's true, and he did end up saving me, so I probably shouldn't be questioning it.

I guess 80 was maybe too afraid that he'd end up blocking the cop or seer investigation, or perhaps end up blocking a shot that killed a rival scum faction.

Yeah, it's an interesting role for sure.

And then you could have claimed to have protected him either forcing a counter or getting 2 confirmed townies in 1 day. Unless you were NK'd. Still worth trying though imo.

Fear kill for sure.

Understandable.   I was clearly the only capable person of winning this for town.

That said, was it my "I've got this game figured out but cant do anything about it" comment that was the nail in my coffin?

I killed you, your play made me think you were rolled and if i was wrong  the fact that you are not predictable as a scum hunter due to being emotionally driven makes it harder for me to operate.  It was a win either way.
