Davis Webb is further proof the Giants suck at evaluating QB's

The Giants clearly don't consider the principles that make up QBase when they draft their QB's, and it shows.  

  • Davis Webb:  286 DYAR Years 3-5
  • Kyle Lauletta:  89
  • Daniel Jones:  263

QBase is a formula that, entering each draft, predicts NFL QB success based primarily on 2 factors:  College production, and number of years/games of experience as a college starter.  

It's been better than just about any publicly available tool at predicting QB success in the pros.  

Dobbs is the backup QB for the Steelers; they took him in the 4th round of the 2017 draft out of Tennessee.  He's beaten out Mason Rudolph for the # 2 job, apparently.  Given a chance to start elsewhere, who knows; Dobbs and/or Rudolph could be decent.

We are the team that’s had Webbfor two years, not the Giants.

Also, I don’t want to pick nits, but they’ve been pretty decent at evaluating QBs for the last, oh 35 years or so.

Yeah, and a guy named Mr. Simms, whose kid played a few of those years in the 80s also, right? We should have had their QB “issues” all those years.
