I found this

So what do I hear? I heard a surprising number of veterans, including SURPRISING ones like Frank Gore, Kenny Stills, and especially Cameron Wake, all rose up and disavowed Gase privately. Wake and Stills directly to Steve Ross. Kenyan Drake wanted a trade if Gase remained.

Key word: VETERANS. Many head coaches, like Bowles as an example give veterans preferential treatment. They are guaranteed their spots, they don't need to work as hard, and often times their voice is the only player voice to the head coach. Gase is not that guy so that doesn't surprise me much. Gase definitely runs a meritocracy.

After watching the Saints game I'm fairly certain that our starting outside wide receivers are not good enough.

They’re fine. Everyone relax lol. As long as the OL can give Darnold time, we’ll be good.

Darnold said this was the first game(after seeing vanilla defenses first two preseason games) they actually saw the defense throw things at them. So it was a good practice to look back on.

well the tune rather quickly for stills as the reason he gave for signing again in Miami was Gase. I posted this to say there could be issues with Stills and Gase.  as far as Stills being released

We need a real #1 opposite Anderson.

No.  We don't.

The 2018 Patriots didn't have a 1,000 yard WR.  Neither did the 2017 Eagles.  In fact, Robby Anderson had more yards receiving than anyone on the Eagles that year.  The 2018 Rams had 2 1,200 yard WRs who would not be called a true #1 by anyone.  And they finished outside of the top-10 in the league as it was for receiving yards.

DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Evans are 2 of the 5 best WRs in the league and their teams have won a combined 1 playoff game in the last 3 years.

Now that top-tier WRs are costing around $20MM/year, they are a  luxury most teams can't afford, and winning teams simply do not need.  Give me a great QB, and good talent around him, and you can win with that.  We have more than enough talent next to and behind same.  it's the five guys in front of him that are going to determine our success this season.

The Patriots have bill belicheck and tom brady

Julio would make this Offense elite overnight . Hes the best WR in football and has been for years, of course he never gets the credit the loudmouth Idiots get but Julio is the best.
That being said I dont think hes going to be the guy they are talking about

Never in a million years would that happen. Why on earth would they let arguably the best WR in football go when Ryan is nearing the twilight? Unless it’s blow it up for a young QV time I can’t see it. This is a pipe dream of epic proportions. That said I’d give up a 2nd for him Lol

Atlanta in win-now mode. Their defense was decimated last year. I think that team makes NFC championship game (against NO).

Yeah I was actually seconding and expanding  on your point. Did it come across like I was disagreeing?   I wasn't at all.  My bad. Writing it quickly  between bench sets of 45 lbs at the gym. ;-)

It's A.J Green. Not based on anything but an educated guess. Or maybe not so educated.

Hate to say it but Green is probably 3 years removed from being a star.  Injuries have derailed him quite a bit.  Not quite as bad as Eifert but enough.

I agree. He still can help a team who feels they have chance to make the playoffs and advance, if he's healthy.

In madden, he was a key part of a trade for Grady jarret

Thee Darren Waller. You mean the guy that has 18 receptions for a whopping 178 yards over the last three years. I can't believe some people are sleeping on him. Not unlike Arden key who you think is getting 10+ sacks this year after his great rookie campaign were he had ONE.

Great analysis as usual raider90210.

I'm glad there are good posters willing to humor him, and respond to him. Do you feed the homeless on the weekends?

I agree.  If he wasnt dinged up he would have been traded.  For now, Bengals best bet is to hold onto him, let him show he is healthy, and get more for him if a contener's top wr gets hurt.

If Jaguars are rockin and rollin w/ Foles near the trade deadline, Green would be an amazing fit there, and they should have enough cap space to fit him.

Silly talk.  He had 46 catches for 694 and 6 tds in 9 games last year.  Hamstring and toe injuries caused him to miss games in recent years, nothing like shredded knee ligaments that would permanently diminish him.

Julian Edelman is 1000x better then any WR on this roster - he's a #1.

If Green plays 8 games this season that’s an accomplishment

No.  He's really not.  Two seasons over 1,000 yards and he gets that by compiling.  Here's a quick stat.  Jamison Crowder, who plays the same slot position as Edelman, has a higher Y/R and Catch % than Edelman.  It's just that Brady throws to Edelman a lot more than anyone threw to Crowder these last 5 years because they never had a stud on the outside.  Don't think for a second that Edelman is anywhere in the same area code as the top-10 WRs in terms of talent.

And I would argue, but this is only opinion so certainly debatable, that Robby and Crowder are both as or more physically talented and would put up bigger numbers in that system if they flipped places with Edelman.  He's a good player who is a product of the system more than anyone else in the league.

That's a big part of it.  If he was on the field for 16 games, he'd certainly be a top-10 guy but he's played 10 or less games 2 of the last 3 years.

Also just to note, his catch % is pretty pedestrian.  59% last year and 52.4% the year before.  When you're the only option and you get thrown the ball 150 times, you are going to get some numbers.  That's the thing I'm really hoping to see Robby improve this year that can elevate him to the next level.

I think he has a chance to be the league MVP this year.  The talent they put around this year is ridiculous.

A top five offense line.    Blazing speed everywhere on offense  .( never played with this much talent.  Let’s see #1 Wr Antonio Brown and #2 . Tyrell Williams     Those are automatic, and now it’s what they want to do.     Can bring J.J. Nelson in ( makes R Anderson look slow) Play him outside , with A Brown in the slot.   One of the three get single coverage , and Carr going deep.    Carr is one of the best deep passers in the game. They have Hunter Renfrow when they need the big first down catch . ( Third and Renfrow)

Throw in Te Darren Waller 6’6 255 4.46   .   Interesting stat He is one of only two TEs to hit 20 mph more than once last year.  George Kittle did it three times in 880 plays, Waller did it twice in 41 plays.  The kid is a freak.   ( play fantasy - take him, and thank me later.) Te’s Foster Moreau , and D Carrier provide another option( although no ones close to Waller as a receiver.

Three rb’s who can run , and catch with the best of them. Josh Jacobs, Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington ( have to see if he makes team)   fb Alec Ingold -another guy who very good coming out of the backfield. Best Fb in college football last year.

This is bringing back flashbacks of Marcel Reese, the most explosive fullback in the history of the NFL.

People can just wait and pick him or a comparable Jet defensive lineman off waivers on Monday.
