TuscanyTile2
Isn't that shade at the Jets, Bills and Dolphins? And it is warranted, of course. Though the Bills are the only team of the 3 to not have won the division since the Brady/Belichick era got started.

Read the articlr they imply the dolphins, the team that is starting Ryan Sh-tzpatrick, is the closest to challenging the patriots

The one time we had a decent team we beat them on their home turf in the playoffs and several times during regular seasons with Rex. The Jets, Bills and Dolphins have absolutely made life easy on the Patriots for the better part of 15 years. Imagine the Pats duking it out with Pittsburgh and Baltmore 4 times every regular season. 2

jgb
If you were in the prognostication business, judged by your ability to make the right calls—would you ever be bullish on the Jets?
JohnnyLV
Unfortunately it is true. The Patriots have historically started the season 5 and 1 with 2 additional games against last place teams, so really they only need to play like 1 or two games over .500 and they get home field. Plus 2 of those games are against 3rd place teams to. Factor in routine favorable scheduling and all of it adds up the the CHeatriots having a relatively easy path to the Championship. Not this year though.

Not this year though. It's really disgusting how easy it has been for the Patriots in the AFC East since 2001. Not one AFC East opponent has had a viable Starting QB. I'd love to see the entire list of QBs they've faced since 2001 while Brady & Belichick have had the same system in place for that entire period. People always bring up Matt Casell & his success in 2008, but they forget is the only time we had a QB (Favre) & we went to Gillette & beat them! Go back & look at how many regular season games the Patriots have lost since 2009. Very few!

jetspenguin
This article isn't even about the jets....its really about what's going on in Miami And the implication that you speak of in fact is TRUE. We have made it a virtual cakewalk for them for the last 20 years. The whole NFL hates us because of it. For the most part it has been non competitive. Sure a few sporadic games here but clearly lopsided in wins.Sent from the Suicide Watch desk.
shawn306
It is the truth. New England hasn't been challenged for the division since maybe 2010

Not this year though. Where does this come from? Routine(ly) favorable schedule? The schedule is determined by where you finish and predetermined out of conference games. E Pats envy needs to stop. They win because they've been better than others.
nyjunc
NE has basically the same winning percentage inside and out of the division. One of the reasons the other 3 teams have struggled is because of how great NE has been always Knowing we are playing for second place. They would dominate any division, let's just hope Brady retires soon.

They shouldn't have done that. 2) Under NO circumstances should they start Fitzpatrick then. He will pull out the old FITZMAGIC, win them 8 games, almost make the playoffs, unable to draft Tua, sign him to an extension, and then he will SUCK the following year for them

UntouchableCrew
I think the "two decades" thing is a little unfair. From 2001-2010 we were good more often than not, 7 winning seasons, 6 playoff seasons, split the season series a few times. From 2011-2018 I think it's a fair criticism. We've sucked and only had one winning season in that stretch.... Not much to argue.
