What’s his alternative?

Who is picking up Doctson presently with the belief that he’s going to be one of their starting wideouts?

And that's not the point, the point is he could easily be offered a third option in the passing game to keep his production up pending free agency.

To jet fans, anyone who was picked in the first 3 rounds of the draft within the last few years should be signed by us immediately.

If Polite was on another team and got cut, there would be a polite thread and how we should sign him.

Josh Doctson stinks.  He should be nowhere near this team.  He cant play.

Just because you know the guy from previous drafts does not mean we should sign them.

Exactly. You don't want players cut from bad teams that don't have depth at that position. Doctson was cut because he sucked, not because the Redskins have too much talent at WR and were forced to make a tough position. In fact, the Redskins  may have the worst starting WRs in the NFL. Why would they cut Doctson is if he was even borderline capable?

Where talking about 4 or 5th receiving options here .. in that role I have no problem adding doctson. He is easily a upgrade over guys like Bellamy , Burnett, Peake etc ...imo

It gets hairy though because of special teams. Your # 5/6 WR definitely needs to be able to contribute there. WR4...that’s gray area. If Doctson is good enough to be the WR4, he’s worth an add. Particularly considering how often Q gets hurt.

By the same token it’s smart to wait until Week 2 to pick up guys like these, when their salaries aren’t guaranteed.

You still necroed the wrong thread.

Nope. Necrod the thread I started 2 years ago when he was available,  and said we should grab him, to goof on myself after we cut him.

Are you drunk?
