***Official NY JETS Waiver Wire Signing Thread ***

Let’s hope we sign burnet to the practice squad. He’s still eligible. I’d like to see polite there as well. If not on the active roster he’s the perfect kind of guy you want there. Feed him a nice big Sh*t sandwich on the PS for a year and see if that helps with the arrogance piece.

Franklin-Myers has some backers out west it seems: https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2019/08/31/rams-nfl-cuts-john-franklin-myers/

Picking him up makes sense if we move to mainly a 4-man front.

Bennett Jackson seems like a long shot, but with all the rest of the CBs out the door and 5 safeties on the roster, gives you the sense Williams wants to do big nickel this year.

Vedvik is a wild card and Berrios...may as well have kept Burnett then?

Not gonna lie, don't understand picking up another DL, a slot receiver, a safety and a guy just as inconsistent as Bertolet.

Dude, it’s cut down wIved claims... and an ultra thin Jets roster... you take what you can get from what comes available.

No but you may find a competent player who fills a need.

The reality is most of theses guys won’t play anyway

even with an injury street free agents will get the first call

These are the guys too old, too many injuries or asking too much money or too many legal issues to put on the roster now

the 45 guys the Jets will dress on game day was probably set after the McClellan pick up

Are people really complaining about these waiver wire pick ups? Like we are going to find some future hall of famer.

The issue for me was the cuts vs the pickups.

He cut Burnett who is a young possession receiver and showed some good chemistry with Sam. He was not a 'tall' receiver but big enough to play on the outside. And most importantly caught everything thrown his way. The dude deserved to make the team. And the jets did this leaving the team with 5 WRs. Then Douglas signs a 5'9 slot guy cut who is very similar to a guy we already have in Dortch. I guess I just don't really get the strategy there. Would rather have Burnett over Barrios if you ask me. But hopefully I'm proven wrong. And if they are planning to cut Dortch for Barrios and keep 5 WRs, that makes even less sense.

I'm also not sure why they are keeping 8 D-linemen and 5 CBs. I guess we'll see what happens. As some have already suggested, Middleton might get cut.

More corners the better since it is the weakest position on the team.
