Jerichoholic
Herndon is a TE a suspended TE at the moment. Correct on both fronts, sir. Point being this is his role in the offense and as others have said. His absence really hurts as neither q or Robby have developed much ability in intermediate routes Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

What's so pathetic about it? Well it isnt Crowder, given that he went out and did what was asked of him. It's the fact that a WR can catch 14 passes and NOT surpass 100 yards receiving given that he didnt record 1 catch yesterday that travelled beyond 5 yards from the LOS!!! How ridiculous is this offense? Matter of fact, a few of those 14 passes were thrown behind the LOS. I counted 1 pass that may have traveled 5 yards past the LOS. Everything else was 4 yards or less. That's the "offensive guru" Adam Gase for you. Dude got a job because he's friends with a HOF QB. Just pathetic. there was a reason why so many short passes were thrown its called keeping your QB alive. If they didn't adjust to a short passing game Darnold would have been sacked 15 times
PCP63
Never understood the obsession with Herndon. Hasn't proven jack sh*t.
Barkus
I wonder if after the film is reviewed we will see that Robbie and Quincy were open but Sam missed them.

TuscanyTile2
2 points: 1) Nowadays NFL QBs are trying to throw the ball in like 2.5 seconds (something like that). Probably it's a league-wide metric that allows teams to overcome crappy OL's (throw before the blitz gets there). Brady is the king of this and Ben has caught on as well 2) Hitting the guy in stride is critical. If the receiver can break 1 tackle and then fall forward, you're looking at like a 7-8 yard gain probably at a minimum. Those kinds of plays keep the chains moving. NYJ1
One of the most egregious failures from yesterday was the Jets basically never going long until it was too late.

Move the chains, extend drives, bring the linebackers and safeties in. We need more intermediate/deep passes to other receivers. And Darnold needs to hit them when there’s opportunities. Agree completely. Dinking and dunking to crowder, bell, and Montgomery is totally cool, provided that we are also hitting Anderson, Enunwa, and eventually Herndon, down the field.
Ken Schroy
Our WR's on the outside were not good. They were not winning the battles and got zero separation. Quincy was the invisible man yesterday. The Browns will be all over Crowder on Monday night.

GREENBEAN
Jets have the longest punt (99 yards) and the longest play from scrimmage that failed to score (Namath to Caster, 98 yards). It’s hard to be as consistent as we have with stats like this. We should be commended Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app
