Enunwa out for season

Recommended Posts

We have to let this guy go. I love Q but he needs to focus on life after football.

Game over, season over, career over wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his life.

Never understood this signing and said so at the time. This is unfortunate but also completely predictable. The incompetence of Mac will take years to address.

Confirmed:  If Enunwa retires because he can't play in the NFL anymore, next year the Jets are on the hook for his $6 million base salary AND the remaining $5.4 million from the signing bonus accelerates onto the cap.

So the Jets could be on the hook for an $11.4 million cap hit next year.

don't know what's worse, him being out for the year, or admitting the team will not suffer as a result.  i think they're better off with DT and using burnett/montgomery more.

That was fast.

Let's get Burnett back in here.

and montgomery.  there is enough juice on this team even until herndon returns.

I feel bad for Enunwa, but this also also is yet another red mark on Mac's tenure as GM.  Don't sign injury plagued guys to big contracts....  His gifts keep on giving.

Agreed but it's time for us to move on from the oft injured WR. I wish him well.

I’m starting to think he is the single most important player for Sam on this team . Its the guy he always looks for when he is trouble . He didn’t have that blanket week 1. And it was noticeable.

I like Burnett, but think the Jets might be better bringing back Deonte Thompson.

he is.  even in preseason, the 1st drive vs giants, found him on 3rd and long to keep drive alive.

nothing wrong with having a connection with a young weapon.  but obviously sam and robbie were out of synch all game last week and that can't happen again.

Well that sucks.  Forgot who it was but kudos to whoever called this yesterday in the DT thread.

Definitely time for Q to take his money and call it a career.

"Fist" is probably a bit of a strong word to use for all those involved.

Enunwa out forever.

That is his second serious neck injury.

For his sake, I hope he retires.   I don't want to read about another Dennis Byrd.

Called this.

Knew something wasn’t right with him on Sunday given the quick passing should have suited him. When we traded for DT it was obviously at his expense.

Talented player but his career has been ruined. Can’t see him coming back from this.

Per Gase QE said after the game he didn't feel right

via NYP: Enunwa went for tests Monday, which revealed the seriousness of the injury and that he would be out for the year.

He hurt himself on one of those plays he wasn’t making.

Hopefully there’s a way to eliminate the cap hit.
