Would it be smart to “tank” the Pats game?

Recommended Posts

Obviously it will never happen in the NFL, but it’s not as far fetched as you think. Even if the Jets play well we all know they are losing that game. New England is too good, and the refs are on their payroll if needed.

Take the L with Siemien and the backups, give the starters a two week bye to rest up, and task the coaches to prepare for the Eagles on the road.

It would be interesting to see how a team with two bye weeks performs compared to the rest of the league with one bye week.

have you seen the Jets track record coming off of byes?  it's pretty bad.  2 weeks and we'd look terrible.

How long did it take you to come up with this crap? Anything over a minute is too long.

as my idea is probably a little too outside the box to make sense.

This isn’t basketball. There aren’t 82 games in a season to spare a few rest games. They play back-to-back. Teams can afford it in some cases. (Golden State can)

the window for losing in the NFL is FAR smaller being that there’s 16 games.

I don’t understand this at all. We didn’t tank even when it made sense years ago. Why would  we tank now? We have a potential FQB and can still trade down for picks from later points in the draft if we do well. We look like we will probably be picking top 16 so winning and building a winning system/culture is the obvious choice.

Wow, just wow... No words at this disgusting thought...

Should they tank week 7 too... or that one is ok to try for?
