Gee, thanks. I should look into this google thing. Seems useful.

How about we refer to Sam himself and what HIS doctor told him from the NYPost:

Sam Darnold might be back with the Jets sooner than initially anticipated.

The quarterback told Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer that he’s feeling a lot better after being diagnosed with mono and said a doctor told him he needs 21 days to recover. Darnold is hoping doctors let him return to the team later this week and return to game action after the Jets’ Week 4 bye.

That's nice.  I hope it works out that way, but it won't.

Jets wish Bennett Jackson happy birthday then release him, delete tweet

September 16, 2019 | 3:55pm

It’s already been an eventful birthday for Bennett Jackson.

The Jets wished Jackson a happy birthday through their official Twitter account on Monday, then the team released the safety just four hours later. The social media post was later deleted.

Talk about awkward. Jackson, a New Jersey native, turned 28 on Monday.

The Jets claimed Jackson, who was drafted by the Giants in 2014 and played two seasons, off waivers 15 days ago.

But with quarterback Sam Darnold expected to be sidelined for a few weeks after contracting mono, the team had to make some roster adjustments.

Quarterback Luke Falk was signed earlier Monday to the active roster to be the backup for Trevor Siemian, who is set to start against the Browns at MetLife Stadium.

Not certain. He's not played in games, so he should be eligible - unless he has exhausted his eligibility on other teams' squads.

New York Jets @nyjets

Coach Gase has tabbed Luke Falk as our starting QB heading into Week 3 at New England.

Additionally, we've signed S Bennett Jackson to the practice squad.
